You seem to be conflating democrats with the left, we are not the same thing. What liberal perceive as leftist infighting is us correcting democrats that they are not on the left.
Democrats have a multi-decade history of doing these kind of things. They talk one thing in the primaries to keep the disenfranchised voters lured back into the party with hopes of change, only to make a 180 the moment the polls close.
The greater danger isn't the one you can see out in the open. It's the one hiding among us, calling itself an ally.
