I have congratulated quite a few friends like that, without knowing there's a deeper meaning to it.
Like what else am i supposed to say when a friend finally gets a GF?

Violet, if 10% of what you shared here is true, I can say your boyfriend is a lucky man.
This could mean she seems like a nice person. And the dating pool is hell sometimes. So you're lucky you found your person.
So, if a guy tells his daughter's boyfriend he's a lucky man that means he wants to bang his daughter?
Different situation. In that case the father thinks the daughter is too good for the boyfriends.
How exactly is it a different situation?
Because that persons internal narrative says so
Well in that case he's probably jealous of getting to go to the movies and spending lots of quality time together. One would fucking better well hope anyway
Only if you're a shallow person who evaluates the partners of your friends solely on their sex appeal.
Thinking like this is telling on yourself.
Now I agree with this comment instead of the post! I am a leaf on the wind! Whose opinion will I absorb next!
All I know is my gut says maybe
You are me
Probably a reaver's.
:0
mine! empanadas are delicious
Honestly yeah, I thought about that too, but also imagine someone meets your gf for the first time and says this, yeah now I'm thinking he just wants to bangs her and I'm probably right depending
Well when it's said after only a brief introduction, it can't be about her personality or intellect.
It could be that, or it could also be a way for someone to say they approve of your relationship without being so tacky as to say they approve of your relationship.
It can also be a way of saying that you're hitting above your weight class, that you're out of your league, And they didn't really expect that you'd find someone as amazing as your girlfriend.
But in reality, yeah, it probably means that they're attracted to her. I think this statement does imply a certain degree of envy. But attraction occurs on many different levels and sexuality is just one.
If I try to think of the girl that would make me say this to my son, it would be a girl who was intelligent, motivated with a view of where she wants to go in life and that she's attractive, charismatic and really seems to be in love with my son.
Just say you'd bang them
Be a man.
My ex-husband's dad had Alzheimer's and lost pretty much any kind of filter to say things the nice way. It was definitely sad in many ways, but in some ways it seemed to make him really easy going and kind of hilarious. I didn't know him before he got sick, but he had been in the military and apparently he had always been kind of a hard ass no nonsense type on the surface.
He never remembered us when we would visit, and one of the last times we went to visit him before he passed away, we were all sitting together at a table in a fairly comfortable silence.
Out of nowhere about half way through the visit he kind of looked at me for a second but didn't say anything. Then he turned to look at my ex and did the thing where you point with your thumb over the your shoulder without looking at whatever you're talking about and just said "She's got big tits." in the most matter of fact way. Like he was pointing out a feature on a car he had noticed while walking by.
In any other situation that would have been highly offensive and awkward, but in that situation it became one of the funniest moments of my life.
So if you say they are a lucky couple, are you offering to be their third?
You are a lucky man!
Did your new boyfriend's son say that too, or was his response more like "why'd you steal my girlfriend, dad?"
