Hey, Mike, keep calling him guilty. Do it loud and do it often. Do it everywhere and on every media you can find. That'll help fuck up the trial and ruin any jury pool.

That's fine... but when adults take over and the Nuremberg 2.0 trials conclude, we demand all you fucks be publicly executed. All's fair, right? Fucking nazi scum.

Nothing big. Nothing impressive. They don't get to satisfy their need for self-aggrandizement in their service.

They spend the rest of their lives doing simple but important things in obscurity. Removing plastic from waterways, serving food in soup kitchens, picking up litter, cleaning bathrooms at public libraries, etc.

No thanks are given. No acknowledgements. No press, no interviews, and no "where are they now" stories. They can visit with family but not directly with the media. No one says their name except as a cautionary tale about the price of unchecked ambition combined with a lack of morals. They never suffer physically, no torture, but they live small, they die small, and they're buried in a pauper's grave outside the prison. First initial and last name is all that's put on the marker.

Make it happen, make it the truth, then make sure that story is taught in every history class in the US.

no. no more tolerance for the intolerant. exterminate that shit.

community service is just slavery. it's more humane to simply get rid of them.

Can Americans skip the middle ages and renaissance and go directly to guillotining the aristocracy?

Don't Republicans constantly tell us that America is a Christian nation?

Shouldn't a Christian nation obey Jesus's unambiguous rejection of the Death Penalty?

Yeah sure fuck Mike Lee, but rage bait posted from an account literally minutes old? 5 minutes after account creation, posts this one image? Uh sure.

    None

That’s been happening a lot lately. Accounts pop up, make a few posts that are likely to stir people up, and then drop off the face of the planet

    I think it's bot accounts.

Likely seeding their scores. This post will prob be deleted within ~1 week and the comment/vote scores will still be there so the account looks more organic at a quick glance.

Give it 1-6 months and the same thing will happen again with this exact account. Maybe even spun the other way politically. If it doesn't do as well as predicted it'll be closed or abandoned.

It happened on R*ddit all the time and it will happen here

Or they're collecting data on people who agree/disagree in the comments.

I don't see how this is Rage bait. It's just the actual statement of a sitting US senator. Bait would imply you're being led to be outraged, even more it would imply it's unwarranted outrage. This is completely warranted.

A a European this is fucking terrifying to watch. The US is slowly returning to medieval morals and witch hunts. Public executions. You guys went from Obama to a political environment cheering public executions within a decade.

    What... The... Fuck

These people were around when Obama was president (and wanted to publicly execute him too). We already returned to medieval shit when they started torturing alleged "terrorists" and detaining people indefinitely without trial at Guantanamo Bay.

You gotta understand that there's a significant portion of the American population that is explicitly anti-intellectual, that mistrust reason altogether because it might get in the way of faith and therefore be evil. Only one in four Americans believes that humans were created by evolution without divine intervention, and that's about doubled compared to 20 years ago. I used to live near where the Scopes Trial took place and I can assure you that they're still mad about it 100 years later.

That's before you even factor in the massive amounts of money corporations put into propaganda to promote right-wing ideas, the entire far-right media sphere, all the podcasters and streamers they have that we don't have. And before you factor in the declining economic conditions, and our horribly fucked up political system.

I really think a lot of foreigners have this really rosy picture of the US because they only really know the big cities.

Can we call for these Senators to be at least publicly exiled, if not publicly executed?

  • source
  • [–] 6 points 9 months ago

Why would he be executed at all?

If my sources are correct, there were 21,156 intentional homicides in 2022, 2265 people on death row at the end of 2022, and only 17 people actually executed in that year.

How many of those 17 people executed committed a single murder and no other crimes? If somebody else wants to do the research and prove me wrong, go ahead, but I'm going to assume that it's 0. So, in the US, apparently we must have certain special laws that only protect wealthy celebrity propagandists and wealthy health care CEOs.

This isn't the sort of crime that we execute people for in modern America. Even people who support the death penalty should agree with this.
