YouTube being YouTube. It's aggressive enough that I occasionally get blocked even with a residential IP address.
post
Google has been pretty aggressive with blocking IP addresses of VPNs for quite a while. The only solution is to just try different VPN servers until you find one that works for the time being. Or, you can use Invidious. This instance has been working pretty well for me for quite a few months now.
In situations like these, I call my IP and I ask to reset my line or change my IP.
I get this all the time when I download too much stuff with yt-dlp. I just unplug/plug my router and get a new IP.
For any lurkers I just want to add this will not work for most people as your modem will pull the same IP unless you leave it unplugged for an extended period of time. Extended being 24 hours or more. Worth a try, but it will be a rarity that doing this solves the issue.
I get this many times per day. I keep changing which vpn server I connect with.
I've had this on freetube on desktop happen constantly over the last few months. Seems to happen after watching a certain time length on YouTube and then blocks me from watching on freetube or using YouTube embedded. It tends to come back for me after a few hours. All its made me to is cut back on my youtube subscriptions and watching by nearly 90%
Freetube, invidious and vacuumtube all stopped working for me. Getting error messages in freetube that looks like its getting xml when it expects json

What do they mean by "logging in through Settings"?
You can log in to your google account in Newpipe and it's forks to google to not block you/block you less.
It's only used as a fallback tho
VPNs work since they seem to be experimenting regionally, especially where they have less competition + more public-private partnership
Tampermonkey (Firefox extension) has a Youtube Tools script that still works for downloading.
For those who care... Often unplugging your modem for 24h will refresh your IP
E you people are angry and weird and not that bright actually
I suppose that works, but that's quite drastic just to watch YT.
This group is "DeGoogle Yourself", and people are talking about needing to watch YT?! Interesting. It's not degoogle for sure, but hey... :-)
How about starting to make it worthwhile to use other sites than googles? I mean - go to an alternative, start following some content you like, or make your own.
It's pretty sad, especially in a group like this, to talk about your addiction and how you can't degoogle.
There is content on YouTube that is not available available anywhere else. Using an alternative frontend with a local account like NewPipe is de-googling to an extend. If that is not de-googling then neither is using something like StartPage for search.
The whole point of de-googling is limiting as much as possible your data exposure to Google. Completely eliminating it is impossible. Unless you are fine with not being able to access the majority of the web due to the use of reCAPCHAv3.
Please give me an example of content that you can't find anywhere else?
It's "degoogle", not "limit google use"... And no, it's not impossible. What a myth to spread in this forum. :-)

I really dont know what answer you expect on that. It's no secret that the vast majority of creators only upload their videos on YouTube. Should they mirror them on something like Peertube? Well, yeah, but this is not in your control.

Please answer to me honestly. Do you block all Google related domains on the DNS level including anything related to Google reCaptcha? If yes, please tell me how exactly you are using the web in 2025? And if you don't, then you are still relying to Google services.

It's a simple question, but I guess you just proved my point here. It was your claim, that there are exclusive content on YT, that you can't find anywhere else. A claim that didn't hold.
Tell me, why do you expect an answer, when you refuse to give one? I don't have to block every domain to not use a service. Are you really that clueless?
Next you'll be saying that I use google, when I read a document someone wrote in Google Docs, right? 🙃
Are you being purposefully obtuse right now? There are tons of creators who post to YouTube and that's it. Nowhere else.
Are you serious right now? What do you expect me to do? List you every channel on YouTube that I personally happen to watch, to prove that they don't post their content anywhere else?
I asked you to give me an example of some content that only exist on YT. Bear in mind, it has to be some content that you need, and can't find anywhere else. There are, obviously some creators that post only on YT, but what they post about, you can find lots of other places. There's no real knowledge that you can only find on YT... But feel free to give me an example (that's just 1 example I ask for), and that's too much for you.
I rest my case! ;-)
I feel like you have to be trolling to ask for an example of a youtube video you can't find outside youtube. Obviously most creators don't crosspost their videos to something like bilibili or dailymotion or peertube.
Why are you trying to gatekeep getting away from google (degoogling) by claiming you have to completely abandon anything google owns for it to count? You're being weird.
I didn't ask for a video specific to YT. I asked for a topic, for information, that you couldn't find anywhere else online, but on YT...
You must be a troll, to try to act stupid, or to consciously try to change the focus here!
You are truly weird for saying that degoogling is about anything else than to stop using google. Now, stop trolling!
Ethoslab
easily found other places than YT... Next time, try writing a meaningful sentence.
AFAIK Etho does not upload anywhere other than YouTube. Go ahead and post a link that isn't a reupload. I've not found any.
It's literally on Ethos own homepage: https://etho.tv/ Twitch is a fine example.
And anyway - as I said, you can find a lot of people playing MC anywhere on the internet. And it's not like its crucial information for people...
"etho.tv: welcome to ethoslab, (An unofficial chobblesome fan site)"
bruh.png
Links to Twitter, twitch, and YouTube. Twitch is for streaming, not for video uploads. Cmon man, why are you being this obtuse on purpose?
Why are you being stupid? Seriously, tell me what etho has uploaded, that is important information, that you can't find anywhere else online? I'm still waiting, for are you just being obtuse on purpose?
You are correct, it's not "crucial information". Alas I have a feeling you'd argue art also is not crucial. You should look up a fellow called Maslow and the pyramid he built.
You are funny... Etho is art, is that your claim? Or are you just making a stupid and childish straw man here? 🙃
Uh, you want to debate Maslow, then please tell me which of the pyramids he presented, you'd like to talk about? And please tell me, how that in any way makes someone playing MC crucial to peoples lives?
What did you do before YT? You know, there's a whole internet full of stuff. I know it takes a little effort, but it's worth while.
And the reason why there isn't much competition from other sites is, that you don't use them. Go use them, and the content will improve.
"How did you do things 20 years ago" Is not the gotcha you think it is.
Yes it is. And you don't refute it just by saying it isn't. Try an argument next time. :-)
Wow you're an ass
To you... and that's fine. That doesn't change the fact that I'm right. ;-) Now, do you have anything else to contribute, than a childish comment?
Nah, you're not worth the effort trying to convince you outside of your condescending bubble of arrogance. Enjoy your view from your high horse tho
I'd say that too, if I had tried to let my gut feelings talk, and was caught up, having no real evidence for my claims. You went for me personally, and couldn't even back your claims up. You are not worth it, and you are obviously caught up in your narrative.
