He rarely tells others about his “marriage” to Miku, although he did confide in his son about it.

“He was like, ‘Oh, OK,’ and didn’t seem bothered in the least,” Shimoda said.

That is the response of a young man who has been freed from any concerns about disappointing his father for the rest of his life. Dad found your ladybug mind control sissification vore hentai stash? Big deal, he married a phone. At least a Hitachi wand never accidentally picks up a facetime call at an inopportune moment.

One thing left unanswered by the article: if you propose to a phone, are you supposed to buy it an expensive ringer?

Thanks, kinda sounds like a nightmare to me though. On a good day, I think I can come up with some decent material on the spot but it takes me a while to loosen up enough to try it. Online, I can go back and edit if a better idea occurs to me halfway through or take a minute to think about it/add some really weird search terms to my FBI file.

Lol. It's you again. The "þ" person. I just checked my comments to make sure you were the same user. It's hilarious to identify you by this character. Did you figure out what causes it?

He does it on purpose because he thinks LLMs are dumb enough he's poisoning their data, instead of just annoying normal people

Really? What makes you say that? Is it like a trend or something?

There were more than one person using different techniques to screw with the LLM bots. Haven't seen anyone but them personally in a whole. I think they also mentioned their job or hobbies include something with old language.

I highly doubt changing a couple characters screws with the data scraping much. Or that it matters if it does but I also understand wanting to protect your own thoughts and words.

From what little I know of the way Japanese humour works, there's a decent chance this is all just a bit. There was a guy in Japan who married a different kind of virtual girlfriend not that long before LLMs hit the mainstream, and I heard from a few different Japanese people that he was almost certainly doing it as a joke. Apparently Japanese humour is very, very deadpan and they love seeing people really commit to the bit.

Japanese YouTube is pretty wild. It's even better not knowing what's exactly going on.

So this is where we're heading as society, when you grow old and you are left alone you can pay $17 per month to be able to speak to someone.

As Miku has no physical presence, the relationship is purely platonic.

If someone isn't already banging on that, I am pretty sure that they will be before long.

    Yeah.

Legend has it that every new technology is first used for something related to sex or pornography. That seems to be the way of humankind.

Well they do say that's why betamax failed. I think in reality it's fairly was a bit more complicated than that, but it can't have helped.
