Tells me they can't scale their application. No way they would want people to wait there for so long, they want your money

Not only that, but they are also straight up reducing the amount of rewards you get through their system! Payments now yield 2.5% of the cost in equivalent rewards instead of 5%. And you get 5 points on your sign up anniversary instead of 10.
Things used to be way better when it was $1 off your plan for each year you stayed and for each referral. Now it's a fixed discount you use points for once every few months, doubled wait times since they cut the benefits in half.
I don't really care about the rewards, but I did roll my eyes at the email.
I just got back from a year in Austria, where I was paying €9,90 a month (with the first 3 months free!) for unlimited calling and 60GB of data with Europe-wide roaming, and Public seemed like the best deal at ~3x the cost for less.
Canadian phone plans really do suck.
I also use them, but my phone bill is only $25/month.
Where can one go to get something close to the same price?
Your best bet would likely be to try one of these
(If the link doesn't work, it's the Mobile Virtual Network Operators)
Most country mobile networks have like 3 or 4 major operators who actually own their towers and networks, and then operate a bunch of lower cost "virtual" network operators either wholly owned by the major operator or renting a subset of network usage.
Generally the major operators don't have super low cost plans, but the Virtual Networks do
Chatr and Freedom have annual prepaid plans that work out to less than $25/month, if you don't mind the risk of using up your data too early in the year. Koodo has similar plans except they're for 360 days instead of a full year.
Well that's embarrassing.
Public Mobile is a cell provider which would make this app similar to your T-Mobile or Verizon app. Which makes it all the more embarrassing that you get shoved into a queue
