And this contributed to operational readiness how exactly? Please explain, I'm in the military so I'm sure they can come up with something to convince me.

Seriously. Like imagine if a trans person used their preferred bathroom. I mean I don't, cause I don't care. But for people the right claims to hate, they have an odd fascination with them. Like how hard is it to just not give a fuck?

My energy is more valuable to me than being mad at a group of people who I have minimal interactions with. Wouldn't these pricks be happier just ODing on meth?

I'll give you this as an example, I drive Uber and have a mas presenting trans person. I call them by their preferred name and drive them where they wanna go. That's it, and it's never a problem. They told me about another driver that keeps making up mas names to call them in an attempt to antagonize them(?) I guess. I seriously can't imagine giving that much of a fuck about someone I don't even know.

But here I am giving that same energy to dipshit "conservatives". I guess we're all hypocrites.

I haven't really checked since I've never needed to, but I imagine there's a way to report that they've harassed you, which presumably would be worse for them.

I haven't really ever had any problems cause I'm a normal human who doesn't instantly hate things I don't understand/identify with. But I know when ranking riders you do have options such as ; no seatbelt, disrespectful, inappropriate conversation, and maybe smoking/vaping (?). I hope there is a harassment option, cause honestly, how hard is it to just call someone what they wanna be called‽ It literally takes less energy and causes less drama in your life. The worst part is I look like the homo erotic image they have about what masculinity is. I'm town standard deviations to the right of the bell curve in terms of largeness and I'm in fairly good shape. So they talk to me like I'm one of them regardless of I got super ally rainbow shoelaces on. Like are you that unobservant‽

Sorry I'm rambling. I just really don't like it when they confuse me for one of their rank and file, and since I moved to the corner of bum fucked and nowhere, it's been happening a lot lately.

The persecution of people is the point, not a means to an end. They just want to hurt people, it' their kink. They are fucked in the head. Like psychopathic, sociopathic, sadists etc...

They make up whatever arguments that justify them hurting people.

When you're not very intelligent and you don't have a lot going on in your life, it's actually really hard to not give a fuck about stupid shit. What else are conservatives going to do? Further their education?

It's a normal part of the military anyway... willy watching duty during drug tests is a thing. Gotta make sure the Joe isn't cheating the drug test.

I don't know what the other bathroom did... never asked or cared. But I will assume the stall door stayed open.

I wouldn't be able to go. That is the truth! I was caught with some weed like 20 years ago and had to go to probation for 6 months. They tried to have me pee into a cup for 6 hours while he stood behind me. Couldn't do it. I had to get water after each try. Guy looked frustrated, and they started telling me what to do, I got so panicked I pushed as hard as I could and farted. The guy was a trooper, he looked confused and also definitely wanted to laugh but held his composure. They finally let me just use the stale even because what else can you do? Every follow up visit i was never asked for another random test, which is kind of normal if you don't look like your a problem, but I like to think its because I just can't do it.

I did many a peepee check while in the Marines. It was a rite of passage. Guys tended to have fun with it, although, as with general population, some dudes were piss shy, and you'd let them have their privacy. Most guys would ask you to get as close as possible to watch though, because homoeroticism is rampant in the Marines, especially back when infantry units were all male. There was very little fun to be had, so you made it where you could.

If they can't handle the person shitting in the stall next to them possibly having a different set of genitals than theirs, then how the fuck are they supposed to handle combat? What a bunch of absolute cowards.

This sounds like an excellent use of time and money for the military. Right up there with sending troops to LA to stand around and watch protests, but not to TX to help with search and rescue. Because lives don't matter only control matters.

The Daily Show has a nice piece on this anti-trans bullshit in the 'murican military.

I'm getting sick and tired of all this and i'm in the group that it's cool to dogpile on du jour, just make all bathrooms mixed already: sinks up front, cubicles in the middle with floor to ceiling doors, urinals at the back. There, done.
As a bonus a lot more people will wash their hands.

    Unacceptable.

Conservatives crying instead of finding reasonable solutions is an American institution. We must preserve it.

I've reached a point where I refuse any longer to hold any reverence or respect for current military. Just like cops. The military cock worship of parades, holidays, and discounts everywhere needs to go away.

How about discounts for teachers, or road workers, or social workers.

  • For me, it's a complete distaste for people that keep trying to slowly soft-boot a "military class" inside our society, by way of all the things you mention. The Romans had one of those; no thanks. Yes, let's throw more goodwill and financial support to people taking care of our kids and infrastructure instead.

A lot of these people were in the military before the second Trump admin made it obvious that they're going to have to work for an actual fascist dictatorship.

Secondly, for a lot of young people, the G.I Bill is the only real way to afford an education. You know that whole student debt issue that is crippling people financially for decades? Joining the military is a way to bypass that.

Plus, it's not like you can just join the military and quit when you don't like how things are going. Unless things have changed radically, when you enlist you're signing up for 3,6 or even 8 years of service with very little recourse for getting out (without messing up your career and maybe even your life).

I'm sure for a lot of people working in the military is just a job. It's a luxury to choose jobs based on personal politics and a lot of people can't afford that now.

The uncomfortable pill is that at any point in the last many decades (ie: after abolishment of the draft) there was no good reason to join. WMDs? Known lie. Vietnam and not drafted? Known lie. (Tonkin was a lie)

That GI bill part is so very true and sad. It’s on purpose, of course. Expensive college and poor people means … more fodder.

I would posit only portions of our behavior in ww1 and ww2 were honorable. Supporting the creation of zionist colonialism and nuking a couple cities is … not honorable. Also, I tried to say it and it may have come across odd but those drafted are prisoners compared to those who volunteered. They are not the same.

I think many Westerners have forgotten the inherent power of the police force and the military even in national discourse. We've grown accustomed to them being, perhaps thugish , but not a threat to the societal order and, at least to a certain degree, to the liberties that we generally enjoy. Legitimacy and power ultimately stems from military force and the monopoly of violence, and USA is hearing towards Gilead.

Sadly a lot of US-born and raised Hispanics can be just as racist, if not more racist, against migrants and refugees as white Americans. In particular Mexicans and Chicanos (who represent a massive portion of Border Patrol cops) tend to not like each other.

I suspect many are just looking for a paycheck. ICE agents are slated to be pretty well paid from what I've read. We just handed over a historic amount of money to them as well, and even though I expect a large amount of institutional corruption, a significant percentage of it is going to go to personnel.

In addition to obscene salaries they're likely robbing detainees of any cash and personal items they were carrying. No due process or criminal charges means that there's pretty much no legal requirement to keep or return personal items like police normally do (TSA has been robbing travelers for years too) ICE can pretty much do what ever they want with it because the detainees aren't able to complain or press charges.

So yeah, pretty lucrative. Gold is sky rocketing so lots of wedding rings and watches are headed to pawn shops. Nazis pretty much did the same during the holocaust.
