Yes this was an election on trump, but not ONLY on trump. Paxton was hated by Texans, Ramaswamy in Ohio thought attacking his opponent with a pedophile defender ally was a solid political move. Collins in Maine is embroiled in a corruption investigation.

The Republicans that are not trump contributed plenty to their own defeat.

It's going to be interesting to see if this actually happened, but if you gerrymander hard enough you open all of the districts to bring flipped because you spread red voters thinner to cover more area. They may have underestimated how much people hate them

They went full Democrat. It was theirs to lose, and they did.

Let's remember that while it's being called a sweep, it's still relatively tied. Get about 20-30 more progressives in the House, get 2/3 of the Senate. Get not only a Democrat President, but one that is more left and visionary about making things better for the nation and the world's people. That's a sweep. This is currently just a changing of the guards with some potential to make a few better decisions while they have watch.

Exactly. If Democrats had taken more than 2/3rds of the house and senate opening up the possibility to ignore vetos and actually get a conviction on impeachment, then it would have been a sweep. This was definitely a Democrat victory as they got a majority of both chambers of congress, but it was not an overwhelming victory. It's a sign that there's some hope left, but there is still a lot that can go wrong and there's a ton that's going to be need to be done over the next couple years and it will still be an uphill battle the whole way.

It's like they shattered Hanlon's Razor in a way that made both ends sharp and proceeded to stuff every orifice.

In true trump fashion, he ran the republitards and the USA as a whole, into the ground... exactly as he did with everything he touched in his life.

My problem is, that man who probably committed disgusting crimes has had a good long life no matter what happens next. Also financially set up his family to never have to work again. I think atleast the latter is something the community should strive to change if it is found his wealth came from stock manipulation, insider trades and so on.
