I got Covid and a fever, but I’m here cheering on TX on Kornacki Cam. Let’s go blue tsunami!

I’m not overly emotional but I legit want to jump for joy and maybe even shed some happy tears that it looks all but confirmed I will wake up to a fully blue Texas state executive administration and a Senator. Talarico seemed like a lock, but I never imagined actually getting governor, LG, AG, & RR commish. This is insanity. Idk if I’ll be able to sleep

So I see lots of seats turning blue, does this mean for example that the democrats could finally be successful at impeaching trump? Or what is the significance, besides just being indicative of a general mood shift?

Yes they can. I think it requires more for actual removal but at the very least he won't be running rampant and unchecked

It's great though and means 2028 will hopefully go even more blue. Not all of the senate is up every election so it can only change so much

More detailed map data + stats available at 270towin dot com here. (*edit: i had no idea polymarket was so invasive. It wasnt this bad last cycle). These are the sites I've liked historically.

Not sure if anyone knows any other links for election night results.

My election night tradition is to pour myself a bourbon on the rocks (or three), stay up late, and watch the results roll in.

Last time was stressful for obvious reasons and I wound up sad drunk. Looking forward to being happy drunk tonight!

I only drink to celebrate or if I’m at a work event so we shall see if I’m drinking tonight (I don’t have a work event tonight so my only hope is a blue tsunami). Sure hope I get sloppy drunk.

It's retirees who have time to meander to the polls in their bumper stickered golf carts during the working hours. We need workers to, borrowing some sensational headline vocabulary, slam the polls as soon as the workday is done right up until close.

Just fucking up in general. Broward county canʻt keep their fucking voting count reporting up so its throwing off the count. Weʻre getting lumpy updates with big vote drops instead of steady numbers. Its making it hard to see intraday signals (like we expect voting to have peaked for Rʻs but not yet for Dʻs, since most Rʻs are unemployed/ retired).

My heavily-gerrymandered house district is basically a toss-up at about a third of votes counted. I still expect the R to win, sadly, but it's closer than I expected.

Edit: elections website says my vote was actually counted, so that's nice.

    Edit2: down to 60 R / 40 D with a bit over half counted.

Edit3: aaaaand they called it R with about 2/3 votes in. Shithole.
