I am the Dark by Amulet, released 16 October 2026

  1. I am the Dark

Amulet's goth rock/synth blend returns with "I am the Dark," delivering an anthemic, driving bass line in the spirit of The Sisters of Mercy, commanding female vocals and infectious guitar hooks. Produced by Christopher Hall (Stabbing Westward) and released on Distortion Productions, the track bridges classic darkwave and industrial rock. The lyrics explore depression and fear personified through a haunting vampiric character.

Yeah. Was a bit worried when I first heard it. Unfortunately AI has a thing for powerful, clean, but overly wordy nonsense. Lyrics here make sense, she's just has a good set of pipes. And NGL Stephanie's look was straight up what's become AI bro goth girl fetish. (Not an insult. I like the look just not a fetish heh) I've seen a lot of generated images trying to imitate it. But she ain't that sort of model.

The fact they on bandcamp. With a consistent look and sound going all the way back to the plague. It's just refreshing to find something new and real sadly.

And for any of you out there on the East Coast. Points to second image Just another good reason to go to dark force fest. If I wouldn't have an impossible time trying to get time off then. It's another good reason I should take my friends invitation. To head up to New York and help her with her booth at the Fest.

Just bumped into this. Checked out the group. They have band camp, look quite legit. And the sound so far, all I can say is fuck yes!
