This was always going to be the result. Smith had to change the rules surrounding petitions to allow for fewer signatures to even get this referendum.

I am far more worried about the other 9 questions. I didn't think we hated immigrants here as much as the Republicans down south, nor did I think a majority would approve Smith and her cronies trying to make constitutional changes just because they dislike the Liberal government.

That quarter of the population that wants to see things burn needs to be firmly rejected.

I support a Federal Relocation Fund where those displaced Albertans can be moved to their natural habitat: a trailer park in Alabama, where they can run and shoot free and not get vaccinated and have kids with their cousins.

That quarter of people that actually voted* which is closer to 1/12 of the population (someone else mentioned a 33% turnout of voters).

Don't make that dumbass 'movement' seem bigger than it was.

It's the first thing that popped into my head —but I was raised near enough to Yoopers that their pronunciation of that lovely country up yonder as "Can'da", so the meter works, too. 🧏🏼‍♂️

(IIRC, the apostrophe is a half-second almost-grunt there that kinda sharpens the d's dental fricative? Not a linguist.🙇🏼‍♂️)

See! I think we can admit we’ve hurt each other, and maybe we should put forth a little effort to be better to each other. So if you guys could send a couple of Hockey teams down to burn down the White House again, I think a lot of us down here would really appreciate it.

Trump waited too long. He would have undoubtedly succeeded 2 months into presidency if he'd just declare national emergency and took over.
    Now too late

I don’t get this one. The four guys with the same hats are a group. So you’re saying the Alberta Separatists and Canada are together, and Albertans aren’t with them?
