My copium is that they're not releasing the Steam Frame because they're finishing HL3 which will be a launch title, playable in VR or flat.

Given what a banger HL: Alyx was - definitely the best VR title that I played, at least - that would be incredibly hype. Heck, I'd just take HL: Alyx 2.

Alyx is not my favorite VR game, but I do think it is the best VR game made. It is so immersive that there were many times playing it where I genuinely forgot I was playing a game. My first playthrough I played the entire last half, from exiting the Northern Star all the way through the end, in one hours long session and by the time I took off my headset I felt like I didn't quite know who I was, where I was, or what the F just happened. I felt a little disoriented and off kilter for like 2 days afterwards. 10/10 experience, highly recommend.

I gave up hope when Marc Laidlaw posted his story treatment years ago. It might come some day, but it will be something closer to a reboot or a remake, a totally new generation's take on an old franchise. Not saying that it will automatically be bad, it could be good, but it will also be different.

Well you’ll get a broken game on the disc because it’s missing the day 1 45GB patch. Even worse is that a system update that doesn’t exist yet may be needed to even play the game properly.

That reminds me I need to install a new SSD so that when it inevitably comes out on PC I'll have somewhere to put it. I've only got one terabyte of storage left that won't be enough space.

Coincidentally there was a Half-Life 2: Episode 3 leak the other day

You mean the file dump that hasn't actually been shown to have episode 3 stuff in it or something else?

I think there was some unused assets for the scrapped version of Portal 2 which may or may not have been shared with a potential HL2: Episode 3 or something. Which is like, meh? Close enough for headline writers to go nuts, anyway.

    Here is my list:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Part 2

    Prey 2

    Dishonored 3

    Prey (2009)

    Perfect Dark Remake

Metal Gear Rising 2 (c'mon it's easy money)

I would add Bloodborne remake but we have it at home already

I'm 60, I played all the HL games at release. I'll probably die before HL:3 is released.

Right, because Boromir went to the alternate future where Valve continued making games... rather than just selling everyone else's.

There is more than enough proof that HLX exists in a polished state at the Valve offices, it's just a matter of getting them to acknowledge it/let it out into the world.

I wonder if they're waiting for the release of the steam frame. That would be a very valve thing to do, release the product without telling anybody about it hiding it behind the release of another product.
