    I think that's because a twitter-like thing communicates with Lemmy.

    Someone more knowledgeable on the matter than i could offer more precision.

    @Danquebec @wezzzy The original post is on Pixelfed here: pixelfed.social/p/ajsadauskas/Pixelfed (basically a better Instagram on the Fediverse) supports people following hashtags, so I added some on.When you add the handle of a Lemmy group ( @fuckcars ) to a Pixelfed post, that post is added to the Lemmy group. In this case I did it, because photos from a new metro line in Southwest Sydney is likely to be of interest to at least some urbanist/anti-car folks in other cities on Lemmy.
