I built a camera to watch police cars. Then two officers showed up at my front door. That sent me deeper into Flock, surveillance, and what is happening in my own neighbourhood.

This video is a thoughtful and informative presentation of issues that arise from use of ALPR cameras like Flock cameras for mass surveillance. From a Canadian perspective but including information from sources in the United States to clarify some of the issues.

I'm not sure which part you are referring to but the fellow who made the video and the interaction with the local police introduced at the beginning of the video are in Brampton Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, Canada.

One of the things I like about the video is that it presents information from many people and places. It makes it clear that the issues are not just local. They arise in many places, with common causes. We have much in common. While we need to act locally, there is also a need to recognize and deal with the broader scope of the issues and underlying causes.

I retracted my comment. Not sure what happened in my brain. Thanks for not being rude about my confusion.

It happens to me too often. Worst is when I'm thinking one thing but typing something coherent but different. I obviously have a subconscious, hallucinating on par with the LLMs, and in control of my fingers. It's shocking when I read what I have typed, sometimes. And I can't explain where it came from. Scary! Maybe early onset Alzheimers or dementia. Or maybe I've always been a bit broken.
