If that's the case, then that also doesn't work. With it on, if it was supposed to show only NSFW content, I'm still seeing SFW content.

BUT. After checking it again, I only just noticed that with NSFW on, it unblurs NSFW images if it has it. Since I have set to blur NSFW posts. I think I got it now.

I was hoping it is a selective temporary filter that hides NSFW fully that I can turn off and on depending on my mood.

Thanks for helping me figure it out. I guess I'll leave this post up for posterity's sake.

Edit: or maybe I'm slightly misreading your comment in my first paragraph. English is hard.

I just discovered this button the other day, and from what I can tell, you're misunderstanding the function. NSFW mode ON removes non NSFW content. If you want to remove NSFW content, toggle it from your account settings.

    Hope this helps

Yep you are correct. Summit cannot hide user profiles. This needs to be implemented on the server side. I don't think this is actually possible on the fediverse due to how federation works. It's the same reason why votes are technically public. A backend could however make it harder to users to see profiles but it will never be impossible.

Nevermind I just installed Summit and it didn't change anything. Although, I did find hire to change it in Summit I think.
When you click on Active to change it to new, scroll down the drop-down menu and click "Set default for this feed"
I'll post screenshot in a minute

I'm unsure how summit does it but the default in summit might very well be the default in your account.
Maybe try logging in in a browser and go to your account's settings, under there you can change the default sort type for your account.
