A literary analysis, pretty good tbh.

So I'm wondering to elaborate on this theory, what if the wings stand for a chapter each? And here are more wildcards I'm throwing out.

There are six wings, a heart, and a crown on top. Maybe the gate leads to the soul-having Angel? What would the crown even indicate? Having power over all chapters?

I also think the Angel may possibly depend on the route. In side A, it might be the Player; but in side B, it is Noelle. The Player Angel's desire is to finish all chapters, whereas for Noelle, it is to be free from her set path, and to find Dess.

In Chapter 4, when debugging and showing the Angel prophecy, we see Castle Town. I think it indicates where the Angel proper will first appear. If so, that could indicate the Vessel or Noelle. I find it suspicious that the round area in Castle Town could embrace a fountain. So perhaps a new fountain will be made in there.

A shit idea, but ...

Just as Lancer is a card come alive as a Darkner a 'layer down' (in the Dark World), so is a Titan a fountain come alive as a NEO-Darkner a layer down. What if Castle Town is a body's Dark World? I've sometimes wondered whether the top is the head, the circle the heart, and the lower area with houses, the ribs. If so, what if all Castle Town is Dess' body?

Dark Worlds are shaped after a person's will. Perhaps Ralsei is a Darkner of Dess' mind, of pure darkness because the source of the Dark world (Dess) is dead, and Asriel was held dear by Dess, which echoes in Ralsei. So maybe Ralsei's "purpose" is to comfort and guide those who are in darkness.

Spoilers for chapters up to 5.

Did you know Don't Forget is about the Roaring? "When the light is subsumed by shadow" = "when the light is running low". "When the fountains fill the sky" = "when the shadows start to grow". There's also "There's a light inside your soul that's still shining in the cold" Lancer says he's cold before turning to stone in chapter 2, and during the Roaring all the darkners turn to stone, and the soul literally has the ability to make light as seen in Chapter 4, the same chapter where a titan was summoned, something that happens during the Roaring.

I'm almost certain Raise up your bat could also play into this, but I'm not really clever enough to think about exactly how.

Anyway, anyone else ever notice this?

So, when you first meet the Old Man, and the party gets tired of the Old Man being slow, what's interesting is Ralsei. If you stand on the left | path when Susie says she's going herself, then Ralsei will walk on nothing. Susie will walk on the path, but Ralsei magically creates a path below him and walks over to follow the normal path.

So... I beat both routes today and... how about a dedicated thread to talk about the Chapter 5 weird route?

Obviously spoilers ahead.

Personally, I think this is the most intense out of left field thing Toby has ever made. The fact we skip an entire chapter... that's insane. And the drowning(?) Like... are they dead or... maybe they stumbled into a dark fountain? I also believe Noelle could be the angel now. I never really subscribed to any theory on who it was before, but after hearing Noelle mention growing wings and flying away, that's what got me to believe. At bare minimum for the weird route.

Drop theories, discuss your thoughts, etc, on the weird route, especially after chapter 5. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts and theories.

This came to me in a flash. I was playing Chapter 1 again to beat Jevil (finally managed that fucker) and then I visited the graves of Gerson etc. But I realised, Muttler has antlers too.

What if it's not Dess, but Muttler, who's the knight?

Wondering if there's any ideas on what chapter 5 will be about.

I'm personally suspecting the festival itself would be features there.
