Sooo what are you drinking tonight?

Based off how common this scenario was a decade ago in corporate environments with millions to be lost, I’m going to guess more than 50% of networks have had one, if not a few in the last year alone.

Someone in the White House “probably installed a sketchy free app on their phone"

And that's the White House. I wonder how many situations there are out there where hardened-toward-the-Internet, squishy-on-the-inside home networks have some random kid with an Android phone or something punching holes to let any number of unsavory characters onto the LAN.

No, I kinda feel ya. These glib names used to feel earned and brought levity to often serious issues. Now it feels like people are tripping over themselves to use LLMs to dig out whatever inflated 9.8 they can find and rub our faces in it.

Such is the world, but I'm kinda done laughing for awhile (is also cranky).

Sorry but that is a crap title.

SSH will allow anyone into a Linux device as long as they can authenticate successfully.

I get that they mean that the vulnerability bypasses the authentication, but still a shit title.

Eh, I am probably just cranky as I just woke up.

  • lol, I'm too busy to type stuff out.

By the end of the year, I need to have a system security plan and incident response plan in place for a satellite constellation, including key distribution.

I also need to write a bunch of software to implement quantum safe link layer encryption to talk to the damn things (fortunately, most of that is at the functioning prototype stage).

At home, I'm running a big complicated experiment to see if my abliterated and realigned Qwen models are affected by this and how badly.
