I heard about the first plane on my way to work, and I though some dummy flew their Cesna into one of the towers. When I got to work (development of digital TV boxes, so we had TVs all over the place) we watched it live. I didn't remember if the second plane hit before I got to the office. We were near O'Hare, and it was eerily quiet.

I need to be around people for quite a while before I can remember their name. More regular time and I'll remember their name better. I've been working on it, though, and I think I'm doing better, but it takes effort to remember the names of new people I meet.

Going out for a bike ride to the local farmers market. My wife likes to get a specific mushroom coffee there. Maybe get some breakfast tacos or something, too.

I read these a long time ago, but remember the stories. He lived in the same town when I live. I went to some local sci-fi fair and he was there. He had no qualms about signing old copies of his books, so I have several signed copies. I was getting his signature on a new book (on the 90s) and he asked the title. I said Homecoming. He asked my up look at the book and it was Homegoing. I think he enjoyed people not really knowing the title.

If you can identify your interests and connect with people in some small group around that, it can help in more than just that activity and socializing. You can make connections, friends even, and find a little bit of a place in community. I look back at my life of trying to fit in, and difficulties with that, and still have. But I've noticed benefits in community where there is some commonality. My wife suggests another connection possibility, since I've become so interested in watercolor painting. I've been looking for some group or class to join others in painting. I think the conversation with your sister is good, and I probably need to do the same with my brother, but I'm not sure where to start.
