Remember, if you got fired, you might have fucked up or failed (might, still not guaranteed). If you got laid off, then your boss' boss or C Suite fucked up. They made bad decisions and the business revenue didn't show up as they predicted, and you're just paying the price instead of them. So try not to sweat it, and recognize that unlike the 70s, a lot of companies now plan to grow aggressively and layoff at the first sign of danger.

Hopefully you got a severance large enough to give you a bit of breathing room while you look for another job without too much stress

So videolan is pulling in either 50 million a year globally or 7 million in just france? That's some significant numbers. And they're also pushing at least 20 million GB of data in France? That must mean the law counts me using vlc to connect to e.g. a publicly available rtsp stream or something as vlc generating that content? $55/Tb is a pretty massive tax. This article has left me more confused than I thought possible

I wonder if it's the standard "if someone has to actually think about the diet, they tend to have a more balanced calorie consumption" thing, where any restrictive diet requires additinal thought. Or were the vegan fed cats being raised by vegan owners? Cause then it could just be that they care more about their pets health since animal wellbeing is part of veganism.

I have doubts that the meatlessness of the food is the major driving factor (statistically insignificant) weight difference

I'm not advocating for violence, but OP sure is, look at their post history. I want to know what violence they intend to enact change through.

You're asking if it's better to do nothing (give up on incremental liberalization, aka don't vote dem, and also don't burn down a warehouse right now) and instead do what, sit online and plan, maybe in 5 years burn down a warehouse together? I been on lemmy for like 3 years now with this constant chatter. What have yall done after three years of planning and gathering together? Give me examples. I'm open to it.

But it feeeeels like a backup, and isn't that what really matters? In my setup I have 3 drives (2x 8Tb, 1x 14 Tb) and I finally have the opportunity to do some consolidation and not just have 3 single drives plugged into a server. Zfs, raid , a dedicated backup drive, but I'm still figuring out what the layout should be.

Great, dont wait, pu in a vote to minimize harm, then get out there and burn down your local amazon warehouse. I know you have one. Or is all you do complain online in the most leftist friendly space you can find. Get yourself banned from Facebook for livestreaming a a riot. But if we haven't seen you commit a felony before Nov, I think we all know what you actually are.

But why do we need to be able to push 7600 commits per second to a single repo? Is this those monorepo people also wanting to have 100,000 agents writing to their one repo?
