My dad loves spicy food, so my mom grows habaneros and jalapenos for him out in her garden. One year she even did some Carolina reapers, but she refused after the first year. When the harvest is winding down, she dehydrates them and grinds them into a powder for him to use as a seasoning.

I made the mistake of visiting them when she was doing that. She was walking around with a mask and goggles and I quickly figured out why. The dehydrator turns the kitchen into a biohazard zone. Like tear gas all throughout.

This isn't news for us already on Linux so much as it is yet another signal to Windows users that gaming on Linux is viable and worth investigating.

GOG and CDPR are closely related, so if nothing else, this means a high likelihood of launch day support for The Witcher 4 on Linux (or at least Proton), and THAT is a big deal.

I had a drunk sunburned warty redneck try to give me a ride in his pickup truck. We were riding the tram back to the Disney World parking lot. He was very loud and insistent, much to the horror of the rest of the high school marching band mates around us, but he left without incident before we had gotten back to our buses. Someone let me know after he left that his fly had been open the entire time.

It was a very confusing experience for 16 year old introverted (male) me.

You don't understand. It's possible not to understand any meme template. To not understand the concept of a meme template. My mom was probably in her 40s when image macros started taking off. She doesn't give a fuck who Thanos is, wouldn't understand the text over the image, wouldn't understand the "this is you" comment.

Imagine someone walking up to you and saying, "Knock knock" and waiting expectedly and you've never heard a knock knock joke before. That's my mom (and lots of moms) and memes.

They have lived on this planet at least twice as long as we have.

Oh, you're a youngin. You'll understand as you get older that not only are there things that will pop up in popular culture that are clearly targeted towards those younger than you, you will realize that you actively don't care what stupid shit the kids are up to now. That your day will be better if you don't sacrifice mental energy trying to understand.

I cancelled a few years back after getting tired of the rate hikes. Now that Stranger Things is done I honestly have no idea what ongoing series or movie franchises they have at this point. Is there anything still in the zeitgeist now? I don't hear about anything.

Emily Armstrong stepped in as the rock vocalist for Linkin Park when they put out a new album in 2024. She was a friend of Masterson and attended his trial in support.

I think it's worth noting that she's gone on record as saying she regrets that support and broke ties from him after that. She was also raised in a Scientologist household, so she was likely pressured to show outward support for him.

I remember a local story a few years back about a woman who lost two children in a house fire. She thanked god for sparing the rest.

That's some abused spouse logic right there.

The issue is more him checking out other women right in front of her in a way that makes her feel inadequate or at least unattended. If it's that obvious to her that he's doing it, he's also probably doing it in a way that the women he's staring at will notice.

Dunno if it's a break-up worthy offense, but it's probably not great for her self-esteem and communicating that to him is a good move. Maybe not with the champagne bottle though.

This was my first time having to provide it in NC. And for a kicker, NC is literally set up to support digital drivers' licenses and state-issued ID's, but won't start until December this year.

It's all tools in a shitty toolbox to suppress as many voters as they can. God forbid we have actual democracy in this country.

I played it well after launch, but I enjoyed Andromeda. I would have preferred less combat and more focus on a "man" vs nature scenario, but it was a solid experience after they smoothed over the bad launch.

It was a shock and disappointment at the time when they announced they were dropping the Quarian DLC and any plans for a sequel. I felt like the franchise deserved a bit more faith than that, but, well, EA gonna EA.

It’s the same in cafes and bakeries, people get up from their tables and leave their mess behind for the next guests. People have no respect these days.

Dunno about where you live, but in my area it's pretty difficult to figure out which eateries have employees bus table and which ones expect customers to.

I'll err on the side of busing my own table, but I've had employees come out and tell me not to. So on the other hand, I don't assume that people who don't clean up their own tables do it out of rudeness. They may misunderstand the establishment's practices and/or come from a culture where it's rare for customers to do that themselves.
