Nah. It’s mucking too much with the Constitution and undoubtedly will be used against the country the very minute Republicans regain Congressional majority. That and DC statehood (DC is separate for a reason) are just dumb ideas.

Focus our efforts on overturning Citizens United and reforming the manner in which campaign finances work.

And absolutely prosecute every last bit of corruption and profiteering done by any politician. Make Congress a means of public service far and above any means of making money.

Internet gonna be off limits to most people soon enough… There’s spyware like this, but it’s a proof of concept that random a-hole hackers will develop into lolz…

Then the state legislature can extract the money through, I dunno, actual taxes. Prop 40 was written by some university professors and got on the ballot because enough people signed a petition for a “wealth tax”. The wealthy, along with corporations, absolutely need to pay more in taxes. But a “one time” (how will that phrasing play in future attempts at properly taxing them!?!) siphoning of money (a mere 5%) will be a quick fix that’ll be gone within a year if the measure even survives the lawsuits.

Prop 40 is basically a performative measure that will get tossed out in court. And it’s completely toothless. A quick little one time handout. The tax code needs to be changed at the Federal level. But hey, if this get y’all to actually vote, fine.

Taxes need to be raised for the wealthy at the Federal level. Prop 40 is a one time, performative scheme that will spend years in court being struck down. But if it gets you guys to vote, fine.

There’s a difference between what you think I said and what I actually said. But I understand your kneejerk response. It’s often the case when someone refutes a dearly held belief such as yours and your boomer nonsense. I’m sure your “provable” complaints are every bit as solid as the right wing’s complaints about immigrants, gays, trans people, people of color, etc. Can you even define “boomer”? Does boomer include everyone born during a specific range of years? From around the world? Of color, or just one race? My definition: it’s an advertisement term for white Americans, middle class or above, born 1945-64. The abysmal voter turnout over the last half century isn’t their fault. The world not being an affordable utopia isn’t their fault either. But sure, pin all the frustrations of the modern world on one generation, nobody from the centuries before and nobody since. It sounds so simple and easy.
