I think the mandate came from the subsequent general elections in 2017 and 2019, where the Tories, a declared Brexit party won significant majorities. In fact, between the first one and the second one, they gained almost 50 seats in Parliament.

The people were lied to, but they believed the lies.

You might be forgetting the Good Friday Agreement. Ireland is restricted in what it can do on visa-free travel, because it has an open border in Northern Ireland with the UK. If the UK doesn't allow people from a specific country, then they can't come into Ireland visa-free either.

I can already see the reboot of the franchise in the making. Back To The (NASDAQ) Futures, the story of a ketamine-addicted blowhard that goes back in time in his Cybertruck to stop himself from building it. When he does, his time-travel Cybertruck disappears because it's never been made and he's stuck in 2023, so he misses his flight to Mars and dies of climate change like everyone else. Sad Story (R).

Interesting. The only thing between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery is Columbia Island, so that's where the arch is supposed to go? Admittedly, that's not the worst location possible.

To be fair, the main reason people were forced to use the trillion dollar chat bot in the first place was that Google (and SEO) had made search absolutely unusable already.

There are plenty triple and quadruple star systems that manage to survive. If two stars in such a system are closer to each other than to the rest, then they essentially form a single binary that is independent of the other bodies. Alpha Centauri comes to mind, the nearest star system to us. A and B are close to each other, and Proxima, the third one in the system and closest star to the sun, essentially rotates around the first pair.

Even better! It's all going on the giant tab that future generations will have to pay. Because that's what they have been doing for 30 years now and it's only mildly inconvenienced everyone so far (meaning the debt interest payments are so huge, they are starting to drown out everything else).

It is unclear how many were on board

There were reportedly around 200 passengers on board

They should have just read their own article to find the answers to their questions!

Yanis, 16, said students felt ignored until the demonstrations turned violent. "It makes us feel like everything gets solved through violence," he said.

That is very dangerous. The young are taught (by experience) that the only way to get attention (let alone resolution) is to become violent. Meanwhile, there are generations of people scared into believing the right is the solution to the chaos.

It's a bit like the situation in the Weimar Republic, and that makes me very uneasy.
