It's not only taxes.

My kid is trans, our home country's trans acceptance policies and free speech policies impact our passport renewal process.

I live in another country, my home country's foreign policy decisions directly impact my ability to live and work in my residence country and impacts how and which countries I can travel through.

Decisions made in my home country can impact my life on the other side of the world, education, free speech, and anti corruption policies indirectly impact me by influencing voting behaviour in my home country.

You put the distribution centers near train stops (yes sometimes with direct rail connections) and then your trucking needs are limited to local distribution. Last mile mechanisms can vary based on product, commercial density, and infrastructure, but often are well served with a greater number of smaller vehicles.

1 quart = 1.14 litre. Price per quart will be lower than price per litre, so you're definitely correct. If it was the other way around I'd say there could be some wiggle room for the marketing benefit, but alas that is not the case.

"I believe in separation of church and state. But I can't vote for anyone who doesn't follow the same god and interpret scripture as a perfect decision making guide because such a person has already demonstrated a deficient decision making capability."

tldr: the core argument here is that debt in the technical sense means something slightly different from debt in the business sense and that somehow makes developers look unprofessional. So rebrand tech debt to messiness.

Imo: Being a messy worker doesn't look more professional though... This is a lot of words about someone's pet peeve, and they should probably keep looking for a better alternative. You want to make the idea of tech debt more palatable to smooth brained c suites who can't understand what tech debt means? Look towards concepts like restructuring, adopting more efficient methodologies, process improvement, or risk management. Mess though... that's the least serious sounding suggestion of them all.

Instantaneously? I wonder what kind of noise would be made by the simultaneous formation of billions of vacuums and pressure waves? And how loud would it be on aggregate? And would it be enough to wake those who were asleep at the time?

There's a trend with delivery apps where they add restaurants to their service listing even if the restaurant hasn't consented. The apps will configure the menus using copies that have been posted online (sometimes out of date with products the restaurant no longer offers) and use their delivery drivers as middle men to place the orders manually. If you are a large restaurant and the apps are going to list you regardless, there is incentive to reach an agreement and control offerings rather than deal with the customer service impact of misattributed third party issues. Some restaurants maintain their own independent delivery services even when apps force their way into being a competing delivery option.
