It's nice seeing people stand up for justice around the world. The arrogance of that israeli is on full display.
In a world where everything is recorded, stored, and can be quickly searched through with AI, your own speech can be held against you at any moment when the need arises. It would be nice to have more local no/low-tech spaces to discuss within a community, but even that I'm not optimistic about, because someone who doesn't like what you've said now knows you in-person and depending on what that person is like, they can still make your life hell. It's a difficult problem.
The figures released at the close, however, were task counts, and AgiBot has not yet published success rates or takeover numbers.
I assume there's still a lot of work that needs to be done before these are practical, but I don't doubt that eventually robots will take over. The transition will suck, I just hope the long-term won't suck as well.
I missed out on 3dfx, but I was exposed to it indirectly when I needed a glide wrapper for N64 emulation back in the day.
From the article I see that the card only did texture mapping, which is still a lot of work, but it makes sense that if the CPU needs to handle transforms then the GPU is just waiting on that data before it rips through it. Later in the article it mentions nvidia implementing geometry calculations in hardware, then I remembered that "hardware T&L" was a selling point at the time. It's crazy to see how the role of the graphics card has evolved over the years, now a massive chunk of them aren't even used for graphics work.
That's only a couple years from now, I can wait. Simultaneously, Chinese memory manufacturers are ramping up, so maybe a mega glut will develop and we can get back on track with the long-term trend of falling memory prices.
Hopefully not like 2008 all over again because this time I'm hoping (maybe coping) that there'll actually be some consequences for those responsible. We can't just let our economy get held hostage every few years by a few greedy assholes. Hopefully with lessons learned, and a bluer government, we can break this cycle. The economy crashing in 2028 would be pretty good timing for that setup.
If both parties weren't controlled by billionaires then they wouldn't be donating to both parties.
Still, I vote anyway because why not? Especially with mail-in voting, it's barely any effort or time.
I've read of smaller reactors that should speed up prototyping, but nothing about actual net positive energy production. That's still far away.
Image says the answer to the question "when did voting last end an authoritarian regime" is "two days ago". I'm just pointing out that it didn't end it. You added the "ineffective" part.
