okay Jeffries but there's literally nothing your party can actually do about affordability so...what exactly are you going to do with your hard fought slim majority? just sit on your hands for two years so that a milquetoast corporatist can run for President on the platform of "not being Donald Trump?"

I mean, let's be real, they lost because of gas prices. Americans don't give a shit when brown kids die, they only care about war in the middle east when they're unable to fill up the full tank of their car.

what on earth are you talking about, you think Republicans are going to break party lines to vote with Democrats because their policies are wildly unpopular? They've known that! They don't give a shit because they know the only thing that matters is feeding their MAGA base, and they know their MAGA base will stop giving them money if they don't toe the party line.

If you remove America's biggest man baby, it's more or less a billion for each side in this graphic. ~1.2b to ~900m.

Musk's definitely a big player putting his thumb on the scale, buuut I'm pretty sure this graphic is missing primary spending, where corporate Democrats received a ton of AIPAC funding to beat progressive challengers, so...dk how much stock I'd put in that image. I also know for certain that it's missing the 633m of "dark" money that entered this election.

hey now, many of us voted for new, fresh tyrants who haven't been in power before!

I look forward to seeing which ones consistently end up caving and supporting their Republican colleague's policies.

Biden had the same files, the Dems have been just as guilty of covering this up as the Reps have been. idk what anyone is really expecting to happen here, the rich and powerful have made it pretty clear that the only way they'll ever face consequences is vigilantism. The Dems aren't going to come in and release all the files, they're gonna hope you've completely forgotten by 2028.

a new era of... absolutely nothing happening. at best, btw, at worst there'll end up being enough corporatist traitors that the only stuff that ends up passing are attacks on trans people. The horrors will be slowed, not stopped, but ig that's enough for white liberals.

My friend had a good point; you kinda have to subtract like 4-6 seats from any Democratic "wave" like this due to the number of traitors willing to work with Republicans.

The good takeaways from this election are the handful of actual anti-establishment, DSA-endorsed "Dems" that won their races. There's still not nearly enough of them to really enact any broader change within the Democratic Party, but it's both a good start and proof that you can fight the Dem establishment and win.
