My friend had a good point; you kinda have to subtract like 4-6 seats from any Democratic "wave" like this due to the number of traitors willing to work with Republicans.

The good takeaways from this election are the handful of actual anti-establishment, DSA-endorsed "Dems" that won their races. There's still not nearly enough of them to really enact any broader change within the Democratic Party, but it's both a good start and proof that you can fight the Dem establishment and win.

I think the other side of that coin is this shows republicans that democrats aren’t actually so ostracized that aligning with them on important issues won’t be career suicide. Voting your values not voting in lockstep with republicans is looking more and more viable. Will there be “blue dog” democrats, yes, but it’s loud and clear that people are rejecting the Republican platform and it’s safer to work together than it’s been for a while

what on earth are you talking about, you think Republicans are going to break party lines to vote with Democrats because their policies are wildly unpopular? They've known that! They don't give a shit because they know the only thing that matters is feeding their MAGA base, and they know their MAGA base will stop giving them money if they don't toe the party line.
