Thanks. I was a frequent warm showers host and occasional user (20:1 ratio about) from when it was a list, then the app. But two things happened - somehow it got paywalled to use, and the people arriving thought they’d booked a hotel. Really - the users attitudes changed completely. I gave up hosting. When I was going to tour a couple of years ago with my tent I tried SleepyBike but there was almost nobody on it. I camped, used some hostels, and did my last night in a hotel. I was fine. I’d be happy to see a support group back in place. For touring cyclists by touring cyclists. But I’m not sure I’d do it again - I was very much dis-illusioned.

I feel your pain. On one bike my plate is drilled through and secured with bolts and nyloc nuts. On the other it is pop riveted on. But when I lived in Switzerland they have a rule that you can have one plate and use it on all you bikes. They all have to be insured but insurance is way cheaper for the second bike. Logic is: you can only ride one at a time. Same for cars. So I was riding in Germany and a police car pulls in front of me with the FOLGEN signs on, we come off the motorway and drive for a while to a police station. “Do you know why we stopped you? Please watch our screen. Here we follow you - you are doing 170 this is fine. But here the limit is 100 for the tunnel and you are still going 120 - this is enough that we fine you. And here in the tunnel … your plate falls off”. Well shit. They wouldn’t close the tunnel so I couldn’t recover my plate. They impounded my bike because no plate. I had to walk out of there in full leathers and weekend bag, get a lift from a stranger in a nearby cafe, get a bus, get a train back to Zurich. On monday, report my plates lost at Kenton police. Get new plates at Traffic office. Next day go back to the police, collect my bike, back to work. I am no longer in CH, now my two bikes have two different plates, pop rivets and locking nuts.

And somewhere in the world a dog is chasing, biting, or just being aggressive to an innocent person. Humans are animals and when we collectively realise it’s wrong to keep another animal tied up and led around by the neck as a ‘pet’ - just for pleasure, the world will be a better place.

I had the same setup for my son when he was little ( now a long time ago). It’s the best place for a child. You can talk to them you can hear them, they are cradled in your arms. They get to “help” steer and do the bell. Wouldn’t have them any other place

    3. elextrics that fail when wet or just because
    4. Disc brakes that don’t work when it’s wet, drum brakes that don’t work
    5. genwrally bad tyres, with inner tubes
    6. truly terrible headlights
    7. theres more - someone help me out

In some countries bicycles and motorcycles have the front brake on the same side (right side). In Germany and USA I think it is not that way, but I change my bicycles to match my motorbikes - any other system may lead to unintended results. BTW - you should mostly be braking with your front brakes, I think you have have seen trouble from weight distribution shifting forwards.

Without looking it up don’t know how 22 yards compare to 115 feet or why you would use different Measures, but why half a Football pitch?i assume that’s american Football but if not then for real Football while FIFA recommends 105 Meters actually the length can be between 100 and 100 Meters so if 115 feet is about 35 Meters that is not even close to half a - oh my Brain just Exploded
