As Florida becomes more and more uninhabitable this sort of behavior will begin to crop up in all the coastal states. The Florida Man diaspora will forever change the face of this world

Affordability is a bit bigger than just Trumps war. Minimum wage needs to be raised by several orders of magnitude, all businesses need to be heavily and aggressively regulated, and the buggest need to be either broken up, seized and made public utilities, or both

Capitalism is the root cause there, and while Trump is a pretty perfect avatar for capitalism made flesh. The war with Iran is making it worse but shit ain’t been affordable since Covid or before

I don’t even give a shit about the peace prize, the other Nobels are always more interesting and important these days anyhow, but now I just want whoever would piss Trump off the most to win

You could even argue that whoever pisses him off the most does in fact deserve it

For real this is one of the more jarring things I’ve read about this admin in a while. And I keep up with it far more than is probably healthy.

I’ve been white knuckling the past few weeks because I have this gut feeling that midterms are going to be a crazy watershed moment and it appears that tensions are beginning to boil over

I expect this announcement was released two weeks prior so that they can weaponize it in battleground elections. This might get really ugly really fast

I can hear the conservative talk radio hosts my parents worshiped when I was growing up complaining about this sort of thing, saying they ain’t real jobs.

Conservatives especially but really it’s probably a much larger portion of Americans than I want to think about, have been so thoroughly pilled by capitalist brainwashing that they think a job doesn’t count unless someone involved is making money from the job.

At this point I’m unsure of any path forward in the US politically that will end in making things any better in the short term. I’m voting still and everyone should, but I fear it’ll either be what you said or the fascists seize more power by calling fraud and cheating. L
