Good luck making a commercial passenger airplane or a submarine or a paper mill with small companies.
"Basic situational awareness" my ass. Driver went from 0 to 100. Cyclist basically got sucker punched. Driver could have grabbed the bike to move it, or backed up his car a little, or any other number of things besides crash out. Guy is a danger to society and needs to be in jail.
I dont get how that one made the list either. As an American, I feel that brand on me whenever I shop and I know my money feeds the machines of giant corporations that want nothing more than to consume me until I die. Even my existing and consuming is feeding those beasts that hurt those around me and destroy the world we live in.
Sure, a bit melodramatic and "I'm 14 and this is deep" but I'm not sure it's so innaccurate.
They're pretty huge though. Fine if shelf space isn't a premium, but 12 drives will be rough on your PSU.
Got burned by knockoff sodimm on a recent n150 NAS build. In general though, consumer electronics prices are low, especially compared to housing, health care, insurance premiums, vehicles, and education. Good write-up, accurate take. Chinese engineers gotta eat too though, so yeah, do yer research and caveat emptor!
"Animal husbandry" sure does sound less scary. The power of naming, I guess.
It would be too inaccurate to fingerprint a specific vehicle based on the waveform generated as it drives over a coil sensor like this. For example, if your car drives over it one day and then drives over the same coil but 20cm to the left, the waveforms would be different enough already that they couldn't be statistically correlated. A large truck driving over an edge could look like a small car driving directly through the middle. These kinds of sensors are really only useful for saying a big chunk of ferromagnetic something passed by.
You're describing most discovered medicines. But you probably meant "...with no idea why it works..." Since they already saw the outcomes often enough that they want to productize it.
I don't know if this is the right solution, but a big reason I stopped bringing my family on city buses was because of belligerant personalities making things stressful/scary as fuck on 3 out of my 4 last rides (and less frequently but still really dangerous experiences before that) The frequency was just getting too high and I hit my limit.
Hopefully I just had really shit luck, but if it can happen to me, it can happen to others, and I really want public transit to work.
But all it takes is a system that can't prevent a few rotten apples from spoiling it for everyone else.
Semaglutides and other weight loss drugs will hopefully make this treatment less needed in the future. I hope this somehow gets funding, testing, and approval before then to help all the folks with existing damage.
Neither is actually viewed as healthy. Social parasites are sometimes harder to spot.
For your case it's the transition that's tricky: Friends assume you want to keep being friends and may worry if that changes. After a while they'll give up, assuming you've moved on. If you're sure that's your path then just stay the course, but know that it's harder to come back from if you do get lonely. It's harder to make and keep friends later in life. It's harder to find a spouse if you're alone all the time. Interestingly, a spouse + kids may solve your social obligation/boredom problem.
For my case, wife and kids made keeping friends AND a job impossible. Married men are expected to be present at all times for family now except for when at work. Anything regular outside of work is considered neglectful of either your children or your marriage. No hobbies except those that can be done at home after kids go to bed. No social commitments not involving spouse and/or kids. Fatherhood standards are pretty high these days. I don't have any "friends" anymore, but because I have a family no one asks about it anymore either.
