Not exactly but nearly so. Once it's setup, go to Network in Finder on the Mac. You should see it there with the name you assigned it. When you click on it you'll need to give it the user credentials you created when you set it up. You should be able to save these in the Mac Keychain so it won't ask again in the future. If you have multiple users you can set each one up with their own account on the Synology NAS and they will do the same when they want to use it but with their credentials.

Synology also provides desktop backup client apps for Windows, Mac, and Debian-based Linux distros, plus apps for Android & iOS so you can access the files or backup photos directly to it.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but we use our Synology over WiFi (its connected via ethernet to the router though). It runs backup apps but also the computers in the house can mount it as if it was a connected drive.

I use a Synology NAS specifically because I like their app ecosystem.

Edit: I also have used LocalSend and think its great for a one-off device-to-device transfer.

I almost immediately fell in love with most all of the characters, they give the book a warm and cozy feel. I just finished it yesterday, so it hasn’t had time to gel in my mind yet, but it had a sort of “je ne sais quoi” that kept me captivated. I’ll probably re-read it in a few months and see if it has stuck at the top of my list.

I have a LG soundbar that is connected to WiFi (for AirPlay) but has been blocked at the router level since we bought it. It has been here for years and has never stopped screaming into the void. Hundreds of times per day.

I don't like jump scares, even in horror movies. I feel like they use jump scares and excessive gore as cheat codes when they can't write a decent plot.

Edit: Not that excessive gore bothers me, and it can be cool at times, but it needs to be backed up by a decent story or its pointless to me.
