There are already good answers to your stated question. Have you thought of just reattaching it to the wall? I don't imagine that is a valve you manipulate often. You could just glue it back on there or screw it in and caulk it. Changing it won't be bad though if you either have a Plex cutter and crimper or use shark bite fittings. No matter how fast you think you'll be, it is still a good idea to shut off the water before changing the valve.

It takes forever for the film crews to get enough usable footage of the dogs on patrol to stitch together a "pawsitive" movie. These films completely elide credible allegations of excessive force, harassment, stalking and assault. Compared with the public record these films can only be seen as pupaganda at its most Capraesque.

I've always found HN to be tech bro centric but I do end up clicking through to there sometimes from the lemmy repost bots. I was always surprised at the anti ai sentiment. Maybe try to find one of the repost bots and just click through for the open source and hn makes (or whatever they are called when people show their projects) threads? Not surprising that the major posts are all taken over though. I feel like a forum run by a VC firm is the ideal place to test ai engagement and comment bots.

I don't like watching videos but there was a good six month period where I read the 40k wiki anytime I had trouble sleeping. I couldn't get into the books I tried. The wiki was always the perfect blend of low stakes, interesting but still somewhat familiar.

She said "Don't you 'miss' me."

Her intended meaning was "Don't refer to me as "miss."
He understood it as "Don't forget to have sex with me too."
As the audience, we are alerted to this humorous misunderstanding by his action of buying more condoms. He increased his order as to not "miss" doing sex on her as well.

If all the world and love were young,
And truth in every Shepherd’s tongue,
These pretty pleasures might me move,
To live with thee, and be thy love.

Time drives the flocks from field to fold,
When Rivers rage and Rocks grow cold,
    And Philomel becometh dumb,
The rest complains of cares to come.

The flowers do fade, and wanton fields,
    To wayward winter reckoning yields,
A honey tongue, a heart of gall,
Is fancy’s spring, but sorrow’s fall.

Thy gowns, thy shoes, thy beds of Roses,
Thy cap, thy kirtle, and thy posies
Soon break, soon wither, soon forgotten:
In folly ripe, in reason rotten.

Thy belt of straw and Ivy buds,
The Coral clasps and amber studs,
All these in me no means can move
To come to thee and be thy love.

But could youth last, and love still breed,
Had joys no date, nor age no need,
Then these delights my mind might move
To live with thee, and be thy love.

First vegetables off of our farm this year are radishes. Also green beans but I didn't get a picture of them. These are red radishes planted around 45 days ago.

In the photo I am preparing to mash the radishes. Then I cook sausage and wilt the greens into that while it cooks. Then I mixed the greens and sausage with the mashed turnips. It was very good if one likes a strong but less bitter mustard green flavor.

Why is mercury a liquid? (www.livescience.com)

"Mercury’s liquid state results almost entirely from relativistic effects, said Peter Schwerdtfeger, a quantum physicist at Massey University in New Zealand. Toward the bottom of the periodic table, the electrons in the heaviest elements experience such strong attraction to the atomic nucleus that they move close to the speed of light. At this point, they no longer obey the laws of classical physics, and the resulting quantum phenomena — known as relativistic effects — lead to surprising physical properties. How these manifest depends on the element..."

    Curtains (poets.org)

    Putting up new curtains,
    other windows intrude.
As though it is that first winter in Cambridge
when you and I had just moved in.
Now cold borscht alone in a bare kitchen.

What does it mean if I say this years later?

    Listen, last night
I am on a crying jag
    with my landlord, Mr. Tempesta.
    I sneaked in two cats.
He screams, "No pets! No pets!"
    I become my Aunt Virginia,
proud but weak in the head.
    I remember Anna Magnani.
    I throw a few books. I shout.
He wipes his eyes and opens his hands.
OK OK keep the dirty animals
but no nails in the walls.
    We cry together.
I am so nervous, he says.

I want to dig you up and say, look,
    it's like the time, remember,
when I ran into our living room naked
to get rid of that fire inspector.
