Please correct me but, isn't matrix.org, the worse option, because of all the traffic? Calls didn't work reliably in said server, but I got to do a few streams with friends and it was working fine with not much latency, but we were both in another homeserver.

I'd like to try gaming tho.

In my opinion, xmpp kinda fits perfectly? It was used in multiple platforms before (google, facebook, Gaia online, and gosh the list goes on, every platform 2005-2013???)

Why wouldn't it be a decent solution for the fediverse software to pair with it, just like other networks did before?? Fediverse accounts already have the schema (user)@(domain.tld)

I understand Matrix needs more storage than xmpp, but I think either one could work.

That is mostly understandable. Privacy.com was also KYC, I'm not looking to avoid KYC, rather an alternative to their sevices, as now they've paired up with Persona, which has had several leaks full of people's ID. I'm just looking for other virtual CC service provider

Though it's not not Linux related, it's me trying to do my part for this community. Though the default settings are for a Fairphone 6, you can customize it to other phones as well. My hope is that, most phones that can run any form of Mobile Linux, can have a case that they can just make as many times as they want.

Title. I printed a case for a friend, and I ended up wanting to have a similar case, but it didn't exist for my phone, so I ended up recreating something similar in OpenSCAD, then decided I'd probably be better off making it customizable so that it could fit, theoretically, any (current) candy-bar style phone.

    TL;DR: The Good Stuff

    Here are some screenshots!

Phone case screenshot First set of configuration Second set of configurations

It took me about 4-5 nights to get it mostly as decent as I could make it, I still don't consider myself an OpenSCAD expert by no means, but when I tried it on my phone, I was pretty satisfied!

Unfortunately, for my phone, I had to make a couple of test prints, and the print shown on video, was putting a tad too much pressure on the corners of the screen, so I ended up having to make a new print. (7 total tests during development)

Here's how the case looks with the screws onPhone in hand Volume buttons, ports

Either way, I am more than open to feedback, and you are free to contribute if you'd like!

what do we think of the "The Amazing Digital Circus" ending?

(Whole 9 episode run is on youtube for those curious)

I thought it was a solid 5/10 ending. Tied up most of the loose ends but lacked brevity in a way that was highly noticeable. It could've been 30 min realistically. I think the whole show is closer to a 7/10. If you know any teenagers/young adults who would enjoy "baby's first psychological horror" this is a good recommend.

Title. I made a space to try and encapsulate all the known Linux Mobile Projects. Ideally this could've been a list or directory of sorts, but since I didn't find one, I kinda just decided to make one. - it's inspired by postmarketOS' space.

You can find it at #mobile-linux-rooms:nope.chat -- Could've had a better name but frankly couldn't think of a better name at the time.

    Includes

    • PostmarketOS
    • NixOS (whole)
    • Mobian (Unofficial Space made for this)
    • Droidian
    • UBPorts
    • Fedora PocketBlue
    • OpenSUSE Mobile

    Title...

I'm kinda disgusted with Microsoft and Github has been declining into an AI-Centric hellhole, to the point my recommendations are almost exclusively AI related... And let's not forget, the new Copilot Training enabled by default (which honestly, how do you get rid of this thing, VSCode also feels intrusive with AI-First bullshittery)

I've been wondering about moving to Gitlab but.... "Finally, AI for the entire software lifecycle." is literally plastered in the landing page. So.. that feels like a no-go.

Codeberg is very decent, it's based on Forgejo so ActivityPub is also a thing (but is cross-instance contributions possible?) but it's exclusive for Source-Available and Free Projects, which, by all means, totally fine! Half of my "active" projects are for free, and are open source (does that make them FOSS even though I'm basically the only dev?)

And last but not least, Forgejo and Gitlab themselves are self-hostable, but...how expensive (price and storage) would it be to self host a Git Forge??

And maybe I'm being narrow-sighted... For FOSS projects in Github, sadly I'll have no choice but to contribute there, if that's the only place where the project resides, same for Gitlab, and Codeberg* (unless cross-instance contrib is a thing)

For now, I'm thinking of moving FOSS/OSS projects to Codeberg, but for personal projects? What are some good options?
