im with ya my guy! like fundamentaly i understand the arguments around "ai is built on stolen ideas!" and "I wanted ai to fold washing and mop floors so i can spend more time being creative, but this is the opposite!"

BUT, the thing that gets my fee fee's hurt the most is, I would probably use more of it if it wasnt being forced down my throat at every oppertunity. OK! I GET IT! AI is good but if it is soo outstandingly revolutionary then LET ME DISCOVER THAT! dont ram it down my throat saying "You will enjoy this!"

Man i had to go with proton mail again this year. Like you i had a 2year sub that expired but none of the other offers were as good or equally problematic so i went with one more year at Proton. i feel like i should start my own email service "with blackjack, and hookers!"

Was up in Blenheim for a boozy wine weekend with the lads. Been about 30 years since i was last running around Blenheim as an 11 year old, a lot was just as i left it.

Omaka was just a bunch of old hangers when i was last there, now it has an outstanding World War 1 and World War 2 exhibits. The even had an original Iron Cross from the Red Barons plane! (WW1 exhibit)

A couple of trips up Mt Vernon to get the day started. Magnificent views of the valley.

Non breaking white space. There are a lot of characters in unicode that are used to get text to format correctly for Greek, or Korean, or english. The problem isnt any one language but having unicode work for every language makes it vulnrable. i.e

    ψ N̸̹͐͝ő̴̤̗͔͘ř̴̙̅m̵̢̜͉͑̌͜͝á̶̅̓͜l̵͖̔͌͗̑͝ͅ ̸̙̺͉̬̬́t̴̛͈̓e̵͚̳̊̆x̷̤͌̐t̸̯̰̘͉̑̅͒̈́͌ ̵͓̼̤̃g̴͇̥͉̊͑́̚ò̵͕̪͎́̐e̸͓͗̀̀̕s̴̜̾̈́̃͘ ̷̦̪̥̤̅h̷̨̩̝̖̃̏͠e̵͕͎̦̽̀͗̄̏ͅr̷̟̳͈̋́̚e̴̟͘͜͠ ⛥

Although in this case its not unicode but a header in the protocol. The unicode thing was previous text sms bugs.

So what you do is you have an external DNS that sharing your URL. You have the DNS point "myrealcoolurl.net" at 192.168.1.123. Now when anyone goes to "myrealcoolurl.net" the dns points them at 192.168.1.123 which worse case is their own router, if they are on your network though they get pointed at your server and are loving all your home hosted applications.

Now you can get a wildcard TLS cert issued for "myrealcoolyrl.net" and apps in your home network can use https. Anyone outside your network still gets whatever 192.168.1.123 means for them in their home network

  • NZ polls without Curia (paultheotherone.com)

My mate just pointed me at this site which is amazing because you can remove the Tax Payers Union/Curia poll. They give good reason to in there sources

"... As Curia refuses to agree to industry regulation membership, users have the option to turn off Curia data within the aggregate..."

    Emergance, Christchurch (briancoxlive.co.uk)

Just got back from seeing Brian Cox's new show Emergance. Bloody spectacular! A great way to spend 3 hours. Listening to a Englishman describe planc length, multi universe therory and everything inbetween, all with cool visualizations and a light show.

I have seen it described as "A fancy power point presentation." and mayby it is, but, it would be the fanciest slideshow I ever did see. A lot of really cool galaxy scapes and star scapes all compiled from really recent data from James Webb telescope, Vera Rubin Observatory and The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument "DESI". Oh and a live feed from the International Space Station during the break.

Fully recomend you go see it if you get the chance! He is in Auckland on Thursday and Wellington on Saturday, which is really late notice but i still recommend it.

A quick Christmas message from Gordon Borwn's social media team. But also Merry Christmas you cynical bunch! hope to argue with you in the new year. So stay safe, stay merry, and see you next year.

and in the leftist spirit of Lemmy. and because I couldn't resist. "All i want for Christmas is, 5 minutes of quite, No Crisis, No Phone calls and no fixing everyone else's problem." Welcome to mayoralty buddy that's the fucking job.

not neseserily just this artical but over the past few months I have noticed RNZ with a number of articles along the lines of "10 steps to change party leadership" with their target firmly on Luxon.

Not that i disagree with thier assesment. The dude is little more than an empty suit. It is funny that RNZ is trying to manufacture it, although maybe its a case of "where there is smoke there is fire"

It would be election suicide though. One of Nationals big cards are that they are not the Greens party or Te Pati Maori. Rolling Luxon would send a signal that only Labour is solid. Then again if they already think this election is a loss then rolling Luxon now is a great idea.
