With Unihertz doubling down on their titan line of phones with physical keyboards, and the Clicks Communicator release growing closer every day, it feels like there will soon be some mainstream availability for handheld CyberDeck-like devices.

My dream device in this category would be something like the LG Wing (RIP LG's mobile division) but with an excellent touch-sensitive physical keyboard rather than a secondary display.

With the square aspect ratio of the secondary display, I'd be thrilled if they threw in a small D-Pad or low-profile joystick a la PSP and some version of A-B-X-Y buttons to also pitch it as a capable gaming device. The landscape display would be fantastic for relatively modern titles, mobile games, and game streaming from a gaming PC, not to mention just general computing and mobile tasks.

Haha I feel like VR has already found it's niche!

Apple taking over an entire car with car play ultra or otherwise comes to mind. Latest Aston Martin model with car play ultra was atrociously laggy, ran instrument panel screen at like 12fps.

I didn't even realize how big a deal RVA23 was with hypervisor support as a mandatory feature. So RISC-V is hoping to leapfrog ARM into the data center and pull consumer computing forward along with it?

Curious if anyone else has reached out to frame.work about the idea for a more ergonomic option on the keyboard & touchpad deck? I really hate switching to standard QWERTY on my surface device provided by work, and I'd be very interested in a better option.

They already offer some international options with more keys on the 13, so I don't see why a modified layout would pose any further challenge. Let alone on the 16 with the modular deck

Fucking hell. I can't believe how regressive the US is becoming. And just how many fucking common sense laws were never passed and instead remained norms upheld by the court of public opinion mattering in the next election.

This is so interesting - I'm not planning on having kids but last I'd been around new parents I heard giving young 'uns allergens was a big no-no. Wild and comforting how medicine is constantly evolving
