Yup. First Steam account created 24th of December (guess why) 2007 for Orange Box.

Back then, it was possible to play Team Fortress 2 on one account on two PCs at the same time, but not on the same server. So my brother and I sat beside each other playing TF2 "together", but each on a different server.

We did this until we gathered enough money to buy a second copy of Team Fortress 2 in April of 2008. We were finally able to play both in the same match and it was glorious.

We both have and use these accounts to this day.

My Frame was bricked by the charging issues from the previous update, about to RMA.

However before that, I investigated streaming issues on 6GHz and pinpointed it to Windows losing the region settings. That's because 6GHz wifi requires a narrow band setting that's different in each country (and broadcasting beyond the allowed band is illegal). For some reason, Windows just did not pick up the region from nearby devices and thus sometimes didn't see the Frame's 6GHz hotspot (this is what the dongle connects to).

It's probably not related to your issue, since it caused complete loss of connection, not intermittent dropouts. Either way, might be worth checking if the region is set correctly.

Streaming on Linux worked flawlessly, it's possible to set the region there easily.

I never had any dropouts just by moving around, though.

Yeah, I feel like I'm gonna just go back to just having 200GB music library on my phone.

I tried self hosting, but I don't have a public IP and I couldn't properly set up tailscale. There's just so much to manage and I don't like the idea of opening my stuff to the internet...

My hope for recommendations is ListenBrainz. I've been scrobbling for several years already in the hopes that it will start showing me relevant stuff. I've not used it in any meaningful capacity yet... I relied on algorithms, but it's so bad recently I usually just end up listening what I already know. Maybe it's time.

Can you think of a word or a thing that you know the name of in a second language, but don't know in your native language? And I don't mean grammatical constructs, past tenses and stuff like that. I mean nouns, names of objects, verbs, etc.

My examples (Czech native, English is my second language):

    • Some tools, since I watch a lot of makers: auger, router, mill (as in a milling machine)
    • A lot of math/physics/programming terms: algebraic constructs (groups and the whole hierarchy), sub-atomic particles and terms from quantum theory... So many original english terms in IT are generally used "as-is" that I don't even know if some of them have a czech equivalent. I know some do, but I'd never use them in a conversation.
    • Some exotic animals, but I can't think of any right now...

I know I could easily find the translations. However, I don't usually get into a context where such words would appear in other language than English. And it feels like I've mastered the language when there's a thing I fully understand the meaning of, while only learning abou it in English without the need to translate.
