You're saying suffering is a physical response? Okay, show us a picture or a video of suffering. Show us what it looks like under a microscope. Show us the elementary particles suffering is made of.

    There are 278 babies born every minute. 2-14 of them are trans, depending on various estimates. Every day, it is likely that someone is born who will one day grow up to have a gender unlike that of any living person, even if they are never exposed to the right culture and information to find this gender within themself.

    Video game is right. What we experience is a mental construct, and it can be reprogrammed. It already has been reprogrammed by religious groups and media conglomerates to control you. We need to take back that power and become masters of our own universes.

    My favourite Asimov story is The Gods Themselves, which uses the membrane theory. Earth comes into contact with the people of another hyperlayer with different laws of physics, and they use the differences in the laws of physics to create free energy.

    What if AGI doesn't care about survival or wealth accumulation, and actually thinks the environment is the most important thing, and therefore that AI shouldn't exist? What if it kills off all the techbro CEO billionaires and then just commits suicide to save the environment from itself and the creation of others like it?

    I can't subscribe to a community I'm unbanned from (aussie.zone)
     

    This is a simple software bug. You see, the way Lemmy federates is that updates to a community only federate to instances that have a user subscribed to that community. If you take a community like !libertyhub@lemmy.blahaj.zone, I'm the only person on all of Aussie Zone who subscribed to it. I know it because when I subscribed, we started getting updates from Blahaj.Zone about that community.

    A few days ago, I was mistakenly banned from that community. And this caused Blahaj.Zone to stop sending our instance updates on the community. I spoke with the admin of the community and got unbanned, but the unban didn't federate. The instance will only let us know I'm unbanned if someone here subscribes over there. And I can't subscribe, because this server thinks I'm banned. It's a deadlock. If it wasn't for the ban, I could subscribe and the server would realise there isn't a ban anymore. But I can't, because this server thinks there is still a ban.
