All I'm reading about lately is share market stability woes. I am thinking it's worth converting my superannuation into a self-managed Timtam stack, or finding a fund that does that for me (FirstCrumbSuper?).

Timtams are at a minimum at the moment (I've seen them at $3 a packet at Kfart, BALDI and Woolwarts). Liquidity is not a concern, UHT milk is a thing. There is no way I can lose.

Todo: check back on 2027-02-01 and 2027-08-01 to see if malted or crumbled.

Unrelated: if I suddenly need to offload a lot of chocolate biscuits in 2027 will you guys help bail me out?

Source: House You.

House You campaign meme in style of newspaper column - BREAKING: local investor "devastated" after decade of doing absolutely nothing nets them $400,000 instead of $407,000. Sources say the house hoarder was "up all night" after their fourth investment property dipped in value by 0.7%, a loss they described as "basically the GFC". Meanwhile, renters, essential workers and single parents continue to not own a single home, despite working really hard and doing everything 'right'. Experts have confirmed this is not a housing crash. It's just "the number stopped going up as fast" and it happens when the tax dodge that's been inflating prices for 26 years is finally reformed. Investor demand is dropping. Prices are easing off the accelerator, even if just by $7K. Nobody's losing their family home because of this tiny dip, you couldn't even call a speed bump. The only people panicking are the ones who forgot housing was supposed to be shelter, not a money machine. Much more work to do. Rental controls, public housing and legislation that ensures housing is treated as the human right it is are required. More to come. We won't stop until everybody gets a house

I had to look up the speech to check if this was an accurate representation or whether that ellipsis was doing a lot of work, and while it's not verbatim, it's very much close enough:

In the 2021 census, more than half of Australian residents, 51.5% were born overseas or had one parent born overseas.

51.5%.

Is that what supported by the Australian electorate? Is that what Australia wants?

TranscriptionTweet by Anthony Albanese @AlboMP

We're living in a democracy, here.

People have a right to speak up.

People have a right to be heard.

People have a right to disagree.

And any so-called Liberal trying to change that isn't a leader – he's dangerous.

Attached is a line-art picture of a hand holding up a placard, which reads:

People have a right to protest.

The Tweet is dated Nov 4, 2019.
