Personally if your game's horror design is reliant on the player being night blind and the flashlight FOV of a dollar store pen light, you've already failed at building any truly scary atmosphere. Everything becomes a glorified jump scare with little to no depth beyond that.

Not to mention the stack traces. Gotta scroll through 100 abstraction layers just to find where your own code even starts... And that's if your code was the issue.

Most days I actually like programming in Java, but these dynamic injection libraries are god awful to debug. I'm convinced that there is a growing number of vibe coders who have no idea how proper web services actually work.

Minecraft had a similar problem even before AI drove the slop into overdrive. MCreator marketed itself as a code free means to create mods, and soon cookie cutter clickbait flooded the listings. The problems came swiftly as MCreator wasn't optimised and created numerous bugs or incompatibilities that the 'modder' couldn't fix without knowing how to code. They effectively became a liability to pack devs who would be refused support if one of these slop mods were involved.

Now we have AI accelerating the same slop for all games, with even shittier code, in a race to the bottom for the most clickbait garbage imaginable. These so called 'mash-ups' aren't built to play nice with other handcrafted mods, and almost certainly won't be maintained beyond their short-lived hypecycle.

It's all pump & dump mods cashing out before the waning novelty can't outweigh the shitty quality.

I'm still convinced that being unable to copyright its output was always part of idea of laundering the stolen data fed in. This way it effectively self sabotages the copyrights of every company and individual using it.

Even if their statement was true, they haven't explicitly ruled out updating prices in real time like a stock market and networking that across the US. In a cost of living crisis and an economy on the brink of collapse, they have effectively eliminated consumer budgeting.

Besides, a pledge isn't legally binding and these tags can 100% hide the paper trail of changes from underpaid store employees who'd snitch on the manipulation. It can be controlled by loyal techbros on a backend server without store managers being in the loop.

This. Of the Jewish people I know personally, none can talk about what he's done without somehow being blamed too (and they've never lived there). People want an easy answer but his corruption did a real good job fucking that up for both sides and undoing years of progress against antisemitism.

An even messier topic is how this probably wouldn't have even got this far if other countries offered to take in the survivirs of WWII rather than this doomed two-state solution. Meanwhile Operation Paperclip rolled out the red carpet as a massive slap in the face.

The history behind this is long, inherently messy, and deeply fucked.

To me it's more like the Kia cars where insurance can easily roll over if a pathetically easy bypass is found. Most people won't care until houses get cleaned out without evidence of forced entry. Domestic abusers also tend to love persistent access to these things too.

    Overall not a fan.

A subscription service etched in literal stone targeted at the emotionally vulnerable. Not even death will stop these techbros exploiting corpses for money.

I have similar setup on my home server except my Crowdsec & Anubis live in a dockerised VPS proxy that tunnels over WireGuard to the real server behind OPNSense. Saves me a ton not having bandwidth obliterating AI crawlers hit my internet bill. As an added bonus, I can move or shutdown the public VPS entry if things get too 'spicy' without any downtime on connections via the VPN.
