I'm definitely not saying it will be easy, I had to restart from scratch, but even with nothing being somwhere that was even remotely sane was such a huge difference. I'm not saying you have to or even that you should, but if you started looking for an escape route I will say I have no regrets pursuing mine.

Sites like Lemmy and Reddit tend toward the negative because we've been told that nothing is perfect so if you can't find something wrong with something you're being suckered. Honestly, pretty true in most situations, but I say fuck em.

S2 is great, I think aside from the library situation better pound for pound than a Steam Deck. I'm not really into Mario Kart but for a brief moment playing MKW was a really fresh and fun experience.

But yeah. If you aren't listening to a real professional critic(not a youtube essayist or independent 'critic') or a friend you know pretty well, I wouldn't take the opinions of anyone too seriously(edit: at least if they're trying to talk you out of something you enjoy). Especially someplace like Lemmy/Reddit.

Edit: Bananza is my current fav 3D platformer and honestly, the Star Fox 64 remake is legitimately amazing!

I don't know if this is helpful at all but I fled TX for much less and never regret it. I got lucky though, had a friend who put me up for a couple years in WA until I could get on my feet. I know TX does have some small pockets of good people, if not reasonably tolerable. Hopefully you can find them if you can't/won't leave but fwiw I don't think you can fight a whole State/province. Go where you can be happy.

I didn't even realize how bad it was until I made comments on a voter suppression thread and then systematically had all of my commenta deleted and THEN argued with by the mod who deleted them in a show of true democratic debate.

After a couple days they just banned me without cause. Think you can still go and see the mod arguing with "comment deleted by moderators"

If you use any AI generated software, whether it's to undermine a corp or not, you are continuing the problem.

You think these companies don't have investments in the same AI that's making the 'open source' version? You dangle your wallet in front of them like bait while they steal the bread off your table. Except you don't have any bread because the field is a datacenter now and the water needed for irrigation has been diverted to it. And you conttributed. Zero tolerance for AI.

This isn't about disagreeing. I already said there are zero good companies out there. I don't actually think Google is fascist, I think they're a corporarion who relies on Government contracts and will Kowtow to whatever power is in office. You could claim that that is worse, but the bad news is we can't escape it so you have to think of a better strategy than "punch down on victims of capitalism because I think I'm morally superior"

You're only trying to justify your own shitty behavior by saying someone else is way worse. If you honestly care about why you are being downvoted then stop hiding behind 'being right' and just realize you're being an asshole. There are better ways to spread awareness and advocate for change.

There are exactly zero good and magnanimous corporations, and yet if you want to live you work with what you have. Someone lost their living because of a double standard and you took the opportunity to "I told you so" as if you knew their individual failure was always going to happen. There is so little help or meaning to this action and yet now you act like you ahould be applauded.

This is, very strickly speaking, dickhead behavior. Be better.

Yeah I think early on a lot of it was subconscious, like, neither of you know what you're doing and you don't have the framework for feedback, or are terrified of confrontation and withdrawal so you just never say anything you just go 'uh huh, yeah' when prompted.

Then there's the mixed experience period where one of you might get mad because the other peraon clearly isn't interested or able to reciprocate the amount of involvement when you get invested.

Then when you're really aware and not completely blindsighted by horniness there's a very 'oh, hey, there's like, reasons and means here I hadn't considered.' God help you if your retrospective experiences don't make you cringe yourself inside out at that point.

Real talk this is kind of how I determined I've always been ace.

Completely incomprehensible ace rant here but after the first blowjob I had basically the same thought but, like, is anyone having fun here? Sex feels great, ideally there's lots of opportunity for mutual satisfaction there, but oral is like, one person gradually getting sore/frustrated while the other person wonders what the pussy's gonna be like later. I've had a variety of blowjobs but even the one girl who said that's just how she likes to spend an afternoon, who I totally believe, made it pretty one sided when she was like "no seriously you can read or something".

And of course to be totally contrarian I do like eating girls out but there is a point where it's like, okay, yeah, we should switch it up. It's fun and intimate but if it isn't a pleasant way to draw out the activity then why bother?

And yeah lotta years in ace denial. Pretty sure it was less of a sex drive and more like a special interest.

Was there ever a big explaination as to why he changed from Puff Daddy? Still kinda cringe in today's terms but never as cringe as P. Diddy.

Edit: for the record, I just tried Googling it and was instantly hit with some chat gpt ass article. Specifically looking for explaination from someone who heard about it at the time or is a lore enthusiast.
