It's still such an astonishing video. He opens his mouth to say some hateful Charlie Kirk thing, like someone put fresh batteries into a particularly nasty toy, and pop pop, fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is. I didn't know much about him because I'm not American and try to ignore this kind of thing, but it was almost elegant in its simplicity.

We weren't talking about it until she left, later on. We all showed up and pretended to wish her well, and later on little by little we've realized how we all actually disliked her and she made us miserable. She triangulated us into it.

Nobody wanted her there it turns out, and they just weren't admitting it to themselves. But it seemed wrong to not do anything. We took up a collection and paid for her to eat and got her a gift, and paid our own bills for our meals. It didn't amount to much of anything really.

Taking photos with her was weird though, there's a photo of us together and all I am thinking in my head is all the awful shit she did to me.

It really has been, as weird as it was to end that way. I really don't know why she's like that, she's really one of those people who won't be honest about themselves and actually let you get to know her, but wants to know all your business. It really was much harder than we all acknowledged.

It's not everything you think it is. The fentanyl addicted homeless problem in the cities is getting brutal, and the lack of decent transit is hard, and honestly we have our share of kooks. It is also becoming embarrassingly racist because some white Canadians are starting to openly hate immigrants, which I blame the government for as it's basically a glorified slavery system now and not a way to bring talented people to work here. That is not the fault of new immigrants, but these Canadians hate African, Indian, and Muslim immigrants a LOT, and it's honestly embarrassing.

Sometimes I'd like to try life in Europe somewhere, I'm lucky to live in Canada but I'd like to see life where we really have a robust social safety net and not just a nod to it.
