You didn't offer an opinion. You offered a two-word snark and it was fucking obnoxious. Just like it's obnoxious now that you're pretending you didn't do that.

You are never going to ever persuade anyone by being a shithead.

Don't you people ever get tired of being this way? Just obnoxious, sneering twats over anything and everything?

All you do is chase away any actual conversation with anyone about anything...in a fucking discussion forum.

But hey, you got to be a sneering asshole for 2 words. Might as well piss on yourself to stay warm.

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar won her election to be Minnesota's next governor.

Either she, or outgoing governor Tim Walz, will choose someone to temporarily replace Klobuchar, from now until a special election can be held in November 2027.

The question becomes: who replaces her in the Senate?

There are one of two paths here.

One, the party picks the appointee with the intent on that person having a leg up to run in the 2027 special election.

The other, the party picks a steward -- usually a respected, retired politician to fill the role for the appointed period and then NOT run in the special election. This allows the 2027 field of candidates to start on equal footing.

I would like to propose a third path: Someone symbolic and both political and non-political, at the same time. A normal person.

Specifically, I think Minnesota should appoint BECCA GOOD, the spouse of Renee Nicole Good, murdered by ICE in Minnesota in January.

I think the image of JD Vance swearing in a woman whose spouse he had murdered in pursuit of a fascist agenda would be great -- second only to the one of Senator Good grilling ICE agents in committee.

Hell, we're shocked they allow voting in some of these states.

The federal government used to have to send in armed guards to ensure EVERYONE got to vote. Not just Cletus Vanderbilt the 13th.

Nearly every major American city is surrounded by suburbs without trains/subways, and most of those people are driving 30-60 minutes (one way) every day for work.

It's not really reasonable to compare petrol prices between Europe and America because the requirements are so different.

If your gasoline prices double, you just skip some leisure activities. Maybe take public transport to work if you usually drive. If our gasoline prices rise, working people can no longer meet their monthly expenses...and there's no wiggle room. There's nothing left to cut back on. Certainly not the fuel that takes one to work in the first place.

I every other sense, I agree with you. I wish American cities were not this way. But they are.
