Maybe find the middle ground? It is certainly a good reason to celebrate that republicans lost and Trump shuts up for once. It is also true that there are democrats that would just as well fit the republican party. But it is also sure as hell true that true progressives can only come out of democrats not republicans. So US should make it count, hold anti progressive, status quo democrats to account and root them out. Then it will become a flawless victory.

There were already some republicans that didn't like Trump. With these results there will more opportunistic parasites that will look to jump ship so maybe possible if democrats play the manipulation game right.
