Studies have shown more health benefits for more people sticking to Standard time, despite widespread resistance. Personally, I'm all for permanent Standard time, but I'll take DST if it is the only way to kill the switch.

IIRC, current Catholic view is that Satan got upset that God treated humanity so nicely, to the point of giving us his only son to murder in order to redeem us. But earlier Christian views, and Judaism, has no war in Heaven. Satan was not cast out, is not in charge of, or trapped in, Hell. Satan was the Judaic version of Nemesis, the angel God sent to test mortals.

Also, Lucifer as a name for Satan is a mistranslation. A Hebrew prophet tried to warn the Babylonian king not to make the tower of Babel. He used an analogy the king would recognize, and compared him to a myth from the Babylonian pantheon. The pantheon was ruled by the two brightest celestial bodies, the sun and moon gods. The third brightest celestial body, Venus, tried to usurp them. His rebellion was put down, and he was forced to repeat his unsuccessful coup for eternity as punishment. This is a reference to the fact that the inner planets, Venus, and the as-yet undiscovered Mercury, never fully cross the sky. They rise, traverse, and then reverse and set the same direction they rose from. The whole of the myth wasn't spelled out in the Bible, but enough was described that it did sound very similar to the war in Heaven, so a translator assumed Lucifer must be a name for Satan. They liked it so much they sprinkled it around in some other places top. Which is how Satan came to be known as Venus/Lucifer the evening/morning star.

I've heard that leopards have some of the strongest hunting instincts, making them even more damgerous than any other large cats. People that raised them from cubs and are 100% family are still hyper vigilant to never turn their backs to them for this reason. Even if it's just play fighting for them, it can easily kill a person.

Same. They also told me his neighbor was a prick, and when he pissed him off King would line up small rocks on is lawn and drive over them with his lawnmower to launch them towards the neighbor's house. Can't comment on the veracity, but it somehow feels like something he would do imo.

I have never used any dryer sheets etc, and have tried to move away from the dryer entirely. The dryer itself is the biggest avoidable source of wear and tear, heat and unnecessary mechanical agitation. If I am early enough in doing my laundry on Saturday I hang it up, I only use the dryer now if I was late and need them dried before work on Monday.

I went the other way. Never separated for ages, then I got some nice wool socks for work. I don't care about colors running, but I do want to minimize wear on my delicate clothes, and need to use more expensive detergent for the wool. So now I do my whites on a more delicate cycle. And I'm suddenly finding my flimsy cheap-ass home socks and boxers that used to disintegrate in no time are lasting waayyyyy longer.

I think the point was when you use the distress code, it loads a fresh profile and wipes the old one, not to have the two layers both present. If they have possession of the phone and the data is there to be found, they probably will find it. The key is to wipe it all, while making it look like nothing got removed.

Yield depends greatly on the shield and laser settings. The only reason that one instance goes the way it does is because the shield were set to protect from a single direction, at full power, and the lasers were randomly sweeping the ground at maximum power trying to blindly roast stragglers. The single direction setting on the shield carried the most weight, usually the energy would be roughly evenly divided in all directions. In more standard fights with average shield use and laser settings, you are going to get a blast closer to a fragmentation grenade than a nuke. The biggest problem is it will happen at a completely random point along the beam, so it still isn't an attractive proposition.

It is true that diet is directly responsible for the vast majority of weight regulation, but exercise is just as important in an indirect manner. 99% of the time you aren't going to burn enough calories to make a significant difference, but regular exercise has significant effects mentally, several of which contribute to make people much more likely to keep on a diet. IIRC, there was a study that showed it being a bigger factor in weight loss, because people who diet without exercise are far more likely to drop the diet, while people who start with just exercise are more likely to pick up and stick with a diet later.
