Honestly i think im coming to terms that Im in an abusive relationship with this province holding on to potential that will never be realized and old times that are fewer and further between

Everyone I love is here but the attitude of this province and the city of Calgary is pure rot. The whole place would close a door on a house fire just to pretend nothing is happening and everything is fine. Theyd eat their shit to make you smell their breath. Why am I fighting for people who constantly let me down? Idk. Maybe its time I move to a place where people already fight for each other and already know this culture war bullshit is hiding canadas TRUE problem which is decrepit nonfunctional antitrust and a country run on monopolies and controlled by private interest in media and legislation.

Like... im kicking myself for staying. I really genuinely thought as my generation grew up things would change here. I was clearly wrong.

**tacking on that the referendum question buried the lede in a big way on the other 9 questions, some of the worst having received a majority. Alberta continues not to beat the allegations, this province continues to vote to be ignorant and racist. If you try to tell me the questions asking if immigrants should be allowed to access public school and healthcare arent racist I WILL shit on you with extreme prejudice for being stupid.

Albertans basically majority voted that they want to create a secondary class of citizens that cant access social services because theyre immigrants. Not very cash money there cowpokes.

On another note, i hate this province please send help.

Ive lived here for long enough to know that those polls showing an NDP lead mean nothing. Alberta is absolutely everything it gets accused of being and I have 20 years in this shithole of never being proven wrong minus the ONE time people tried voting differently and I STILL HEAR BITCHING about those 4 years like it was ever worse than 40 years of conservative mismanagement

"Democracy" just determined immigrants here should be a secondary class of citizen and be denied access to services. Alberta deserves what it will get.

I think we are fucked because to me this indicates this province is continuing to vote with 0 information on gut feeling and bigotry which means we are staring down the barrel of more of this kind of politics in the future

Alberta basically just showed canada they are fine with the UCP and likely to vote them in again... we are fucked

Life is about to get a LOT harder in Alberta and it is already really hard here. Im tired of doing the insanity thing of always trying the same thing here and always being disappointed.

I still routinely have to tell people here that there have never been litter boxes in schools for kids... i just cant do it anymore. Its like we have a lead poisoning problem. Albertans will never beat the allegations of enjoying being ignorant.

Way too many people voted yes to the other 9 questions

The vote to remain is not the victory we think it is. This is an indication that Alberta will not change its voting habits and will continue to vote against self-interest if it means seeing less immigrants. We voted to remain... we also voted to be racist, and deprive people of services. We voted for things that are already law and arent up for discussion like voter ID during elections.

To me this is a UCP victory and indicates they will continue being elected. This is an indication that the culture war rhetoric will not be ramping down and that this province is all in.

I am so beyond disappointed with these election results. I really thought we would know better and Im so tired of waiting for Albertans to finally be informed and make informed decisions.

    Im tired boss.

No they didnt, because Alberta is full of fucking idiots who voted yes to the other 9 which had some super bullshit racist questions that all were soaked in seperatist dreck

This went exactly as intended for them. My disappointment is immeasurable.

Alberta also voted yes to the other nine, which means we voted to be as shitty and racist as possible while remaining.

This isnt the victory everyone wants to think it is. This went exactly as expected and means this province is going to keep blindly voting on issues that 1) dont exist or 2) they dont understand, which means we are staring down the barrel of more UCP in the future.

Alberta predictably voted to be racist and ignorant, as usual, my disappointment is expected but still bitter and Im drafting a plan to leave. This is going to get a lot worse here before it ever gets better and this vote is concrete proof that Alberta is fucking stupid and will vote against themselves if it means they dont have to see as many Indian people

Almost like the shit scientists have been saying is going to happen for years is accelerating because we did nothing and even doubled down on fucking ourselves over

I dont blame the kids for being cynical and disillusioned. I had horrible depression in high school from seeing the inevitability of our impending climate catastrophe and being told I was being "dramatic" by people who bought the lies.

I might have fucked that one up, all I can remember with certainty was there were enough sources that could be cross referenced to include the baptism of a man named jesus by john the baptist and there being mention of like a visual depiction that could be taken as a reliable second source but this was a first year history of religion paper I struggled a lot with so Id take it all with a big grain of salt

All I really remember for sure was historians can (sorta) agree he was baptised by probably john the baptist

I actually stupidly chose Jesus as a historical figure to write a proper primary sources only paper thinking there would be a breadth of info on the guy... and found out the hard way that from a historically factual standpoint all we've got is he probably existed, was baptized, and was executed. Straight up all weve got is what roman records gave us and one painting that might not even be right I think it was like a few depictions and some stories that corroborated

For the record I am a daily pedestrian and my close-calls with being hit have gone from never in my life to basically every day

Im getting genuine anxiety about crossing the street now because I keep getting driven into even though it is my pedestrian light. Article is an editorial but I can attest to a ramp up in danger from vehicles, and our pedestrian deaths have skyrocketed from their previous record (15) to 40 and the year isnt even done yet.
