Just drive a bus, then you can use it.

I can see why transit projects in Alberta take a long time. Suburbanites there seem to have trouble looking more than 30 days into the future.

Yes but a lane for one bus also seems odd. As far as I have heard it is a lane for one bus number that doesn't run all the time.

It was intended for BRT, so we have to run that BRT to see if it was worth for its intended purpose.

I can't tell if it's still under construction or not, but now the city and province has to step up for the transit service to ensure the high quality transit route is there when it opens, or ASAP if it already is open.

The roadway will only be accessible to transit riders using bus No. 31. The route operates only on weekdays during peak commuting hours.

Seems silly for that; put that money into cycling infrastructure instead perhaps.

But later it’s observed that this is the first phase of a “bus rapid transit” which has dedicated space for busses to run, I guess. Better than nothing.

The one resident is right. Cars are currently forced to drive through the residential area, and this lane would solve that problem. I think it's a better use of funds to reduce noise, toxic dust, and risk of injury in Riverbend than to try and convince people who choose to live 20km away from the city centre to take transit.

with the same logic i can demand that a speed limit of 3mph must be enforced since the cars dont move faster during jams .so people can walk the roads :D

but now serious: what prevents those people taking the bus directly from their homes, or as a connection? is it just laziness and entitlement?
