One wonders what Republicans in Congress—let alone the international community—will think of Trump’s latest concession. If a final peace deal between Iran and the U.S. doesn’t have any restrictions on the country’s nuclear program, it will be effectively worse than the 2015 JCPOA agreement with Iran.

Everything Obama or Biden did, he just has to do it worse.

Everything Obama or Biden did he says was dumb or horribly done because he didn’t personally enrich himself by holding parts of it hostage or using parts of it to harm others and then extort them, and then inexplicably get into business with them later in some land development deals. Every time he says Obama did something stupid, it means he’s going to destroy it, rebuild and rebrand it and make himself and his buddies money off it, expecting his buddies to wash some of the govt proceeds used in the deal to funnel to himself and his family.

It's fascinating just how badly the US lost this war.

So Trump is issuing a complete surrender to Iran.

After months of insisting that the purpose of the war was to get rid of any nuclear capability, demanding “zero enrichment,” Trump is now saying that the country can use nuclear power for electricity.

Nuclear power generation, not nuclear weapons.

The point is that the electric is cover for the military use of Uranium. Or so was the logic of previous foreign policy.

To be clear, I'm just a messenger here. Not saying its right.

This whole situation guarantees Iran races towards nukes in the future. There is no other lesson in all this for them. You can't negotiate with the US or Israel, you can't trust them. The stockpiled 60% heu is going to end up in bombs. Funny because they only had 3.6% uranium for fuel under the jcpoa, but now they have 60% heu and massive stockpiles of it - and $300B from US taxpayers.

    And Ukraine.

"So if we give up our nukes you'll recognise our territory and protect us against the russians?"
    "Sure, of course"
    "Ok, we'll do it."
    {russians attack}
"The russians are attacking. Protect us!"
    "Yeah, about that ..."

Obama looks like a fucking genius now. Holy shit.m

All these moron republican politicians got the thing they wanted for two decades and it was just a bunch of human blood and labor and money set on fire only to accomplish nothing more than an accellerated pathway for an oppressive regime to get nuclear weapons.

We all know that a lot of money for the war went into Polymarket that a bunch of wealthy bet on, having insider details, and since it's not restricted or illegal, they probably made millions.

  • source

  • I feel like Polymarket is relatively small potatoes. Who's been benefiting from the high oil prices? non-gulf oil producers. Whoever controls that oil has been making real bank. I don't know which all countries are major exporters, but I know a few of them are Russia, the US, and the US's newest puppet state, Venezuela.

    Hax.

    • Get a bunch of fools who are easily parted with their money to hang off your every word.

    • Permit unregulated gambling on things you can control the outcome of.

    • Start a war that nobody wants. Tell your fools it will be quick and easy and victorious.

    • Fools go and bet on the war en masse.

    • Tell a few rich friends that you're forfeiting.

    • Profit.

"Art of the deal" is just magic tricks. He wants you to look at his hands to forget about the whole child sex trafficking thing...but did you notice the moonwalking bear?

here’s the thing: every country has a right to a nuclear program. if the only country to use them in war tells you “no” you can clearly ignore them.

iran deserves nuclear energy, medicine, etc. Just as much as the US or russia.

    😂

Holy shit, did Putin give Iran the pee tapes or something?

I don't think the USA has ever had such a humiliating loss in war.

Could he have gotten a worse deal?

There’s also a broader implication here.

If the US ever goes to war with China (by necessity it choice), for the foreseeable future all China has to do is have their ally choke off the strait of Hormuz and the US will crumple in months.

The reason the US is surrendering is because they are about to lose oil production capacity domestically; they hit the threshold of not enough oil to pressurize domestic pipelines.

That happened because they never filled the strategic reserve, and lashed out at any price increases, and bragged about how they can now sell so much extra oil now.

So any conflict with China will utterly destroy the US (and world) economy. The US is too far into late stage capitalism to ween off oil, so they’re fucked by their own choices.

The US is now officially unable to combat China.

And that's ignoring that a war with China will mean access to the world's factory will be cut off, meaning shelves in stores will go bare and prices will skyrocket even more for things produced outside of China (assuming China isn't involved in some way in another part of that supply chain).

The notion of us (the US) winning a real war when we don't fucking make anything any more is beyond ludicrous. We won WWII (and WWI for that matter) because we made nearly fucking everything at the time. And whatever we didn't make we could have made if necessary.

    This is the second sacking?

Soon will we see Trump pleading for a foreign emperor to save him from having his powers stripped away...?

And the Republican Congress stood by and did nothing.

I mean, they do have a right to a nuclear program. At least as much of a right as France or South Korea or Israel, anyway.

I fucking wish the Republican Congress would have stood by and done nothing, rather than green lighting trillions of dollars in war funding that made the nightmare of the last three months possible.

South Korea operates 26 nuclear reactors with a total capacity of approximately 25.6 GWe, supplying around 31.7% of the country’s electricity

Israel will love that. But he's right, Iran does have a right to a nuclear deterence same as everyone else.

edit: oh, I see, trump was talking about nuclear power, not nuclear deterence. But with Israel saber rattling their nukes I think Iran has a fair right to their own on a ground of right of self defense of an obvious aggressor.

    From March of this year:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth indicated Monday that the justification for the offensive was Iran's "swelling arsenal of ballistic missiles and killer drones," which he said they were using to "create a conventional shield for their nuclear blackmail ambitions."

So there was officially no point at all?

It’s true, but at a certain point we have to acknowledge how stupid all of this is. He didn’t just undo Obama’s efforts to keep weapons out of the Middle East. He started a war with the same stated goal, lost, and then said it was okay if they get nukes? And that’s not even all the nuance of the stupid in this situation.

Every day there’s a news story that makes me let out the biggest, most defeated, most tired sigh. I can’t believe we’re here. That this is reality. Epstein stuff included.
