Finally some good news. Loved Battlebots back in the day, I just hope there will be less bots that do nothing but flip the other one over.

I want to see this thing escalate. Plasma cutters, explosives, depleted uranium projectiles.
have you seen how thick the walls of the battle box are already to protect everyone from the current levels of carnage?? with your suggestion they'd all have to be in another building!
So? We watch a recording anyway!
this gif could have been text
but my point is that audience participation is a core feature of the show. removing that would greatly change the character of Battlebots for no good (in my opinion) reason. the destruction is crazy enough that we don't need to be adding hazards that will complicate the fights a great deal
You can volunteer for the Russia army and experience some of those things first hand.
The NHRL has been blowing the pants off BattleBots TV show. I tune in all day during tournaments
What i want in actual bots. No human controls. Robots by definition are autonomous. You put the bot in, run.exe and off it goes. It would make them have to really think about design instead of just having a whirling hammer on an rc car.
A robot is actually not autonomous by definition. A robot, by definition, is just a machine specialized for performing a specific and/or complex task.
Orbitron claims to be mostly autonomous. I believe the driver still influences overall strategy but for the most part it handles second to second combat by itself. It hasn't had much success, but shows autonomy is an area teams are exploring.
Battlebots Org themselves are also looking into other rulesets for humanoid bots and autonomous combat. It's probably just a matter of time, but under current rules the autonomous bots will have to fight better than human operated first.
Is this just the American name for Robot Wars or is it a different show?
