About the taboo reasons or reason to mention lemmy.ml in this post.

My comment is meant as a potential add on to the meme, clowning on people who are (negatively) obsessed with lemmy.ml and bring it up even though the op did not. There are a few such examples in the comments here, for example.

It was weird, because the comment ended up doing the same. I thought it was sincere and thought "ah, here we go again".

The funny-sad thing about it is that they don't acknowledge the existence of people with legitimate grievances against the West.

"RT? ThaTS PrOpAgaNdA! Not like the NYT or BBC, truly unyielding credible sources!" - average comment from lib instances that encounters a non-western source LMBO!

This doesn't make allies. Why not focus on criticising the fascists together?

Authoritarianism is authoritarianism. A different coat of paint doesn’t make shit more appetizing.

Authority exercised by the proletariat through a DotP is qualitatively different than authority exercised by capital through a DoC.

'Spooky leftists are always talking about a "dictatorship!", of the "proletariat(?)",

I don't know what that second word means, but DICTATOR, DIC - TATOR, Dick, and Tators, dick and balls, cock and ball torture "dictatorship", of the PROLETARIAT?! 😱'

    • you, and other misinformed people talking out of their ass.

Can you even define that word? Because i only see it used as a thought terminating cliche that just means "government i don't agree with". Can you name a single non-"authoritarian" government?

The problem with a lemmy.ml boycott is that there's no one here to point out this obvious nonsense.

Isn't the point of a boycott that you then don't have to deal with something?

I check out your instance sometimes, and it's wall to wall people gnashing their teeth and rending their garments about our existence. They're obsessed with us, and the things they say are all the things in this meme. It seems like a bad time over there.

If it's so obvious y'all would simply point at a credible source disproving us and we'd be done with it, instead you resort to thought terminating cliches and blatant propaganda that is easily disproven even without going to non-western sources. And that's when you bother to google a source.

Seeing MLs post anti-left stuff like this makes me think of Monsignor Wicks from Wake Up Dead Man. Alienating the out-group to strengthen the bonds of the in-group.
