Just 36 hours into Tesla’s Robotaxi debut in Austin, Reddit users have already compiled more than 11 separate videos of the cars making various public blunders. The full list is being updated here, and if you’re interested in seeing how well Tesla Full-Self Driving performs without a driver behind the wheel, it's worth a scroll!

Either these "safety drivers" are staying, making the whole operation ridiculously expensive or they go, plunging the service into abject chaos. This is fun to watch from far away.

    Weirdly, no XD

    Waymo is an Alphabet... bet?

Alphabet: -7% YoY Tesla: +74% YoY

The brownshirt fanboys are an underestimated financial market force. Throw official corruption into the mix. And why not untraceable crypto money from god-knows-who, because the 4d chess board was just too simple without it.

+74%yoy? Goddamn there is absolutely nothing but bad news and shitforbrains demos like this and an absent CEO. We need a new kind of tax on unsubstantiated capital gains.

    It's just bananas.

Hard to put a finger on it, but there's persistent questions about stock price fixing. A constant joke across Tesla-watching forums. I wouldn't touch that stock with a ten foot pole, it's got a fuse and I'd bet dollars to donuts it is already lit.

They rushed this shit out so they could be "first" to make line go up to compensate for Nazi Muskrat dragging them down with him. Unsurprisingly, they fucked up and are endangering people in the process.

They can't even meet the bar that other companies have gotten to with self-driving tech lol

Pretty bold to have launched in a city that already has a functional driverless cab service, and with people that now have expectations of something good. I don’t know how delusional they must be to think they will compare well to Waymo.

That site sucks (Checking if your "connection" is "secure")

        Robotaxi drives into oncoming lane
Rider presses “pull over”, Robotaxi stops in the middle of an intersection, rider gets out while Robotaxi blocks intersection for a few moments
Rider presses pull over and the car just stopped in the middle of the road. Safety monitor has to call rider support to get car moving again
Robotaxi doesn’t detect UPS driver’s reverse lights (or the car reversing towards it) and continues to attempt to park, then safety monitor manually stops it
Robotaxi cuts off a car, then randomly brakes (potentially because of an upcoming tree shadow?)
        Robotaxi going 26 in a 15
Robotaxi unexpectedly brakes, possibly due to nearby police
Robotaxi unexpectedly slams on brakes, causing rider to drop phone
Robotaxi comes to a complete stop after approaching an object, then runs it over (rider says it’s a shopping bag, though the car visibly bump up and down)
Robotaxi runs over curb in parking lot
Safety driver moved to driver seat to intervene

This is the funniest part for me

There are reportedly around ten Robotaxis running in Austin right now.

That's all? All these mistakes come from just 10 robotaxis?

I've seen other sources claim 20. Still ass in my opinion

I'm sort of baffled by the range. "Ten or so" is the commonly reported number I saw, so I ran with that, but I have also seen higher estimates.

Like, surely, Tesla needs to report the exact number to the state, right? How is it possible that we don't know, it's just such a bootleg setup.

There are 1,500 Waymos on the road presently (not 1,500 to 3,000), which Waymo themselves announce because Waymo isn't a circus act: https://waymo.com/blog/2025/05/scaling-our-fleet-through-us-manufacturing

Maybe we this just means that the public streets are more free-game for random experiments than we thought!
