The Night Flight Orchestra put out a new album this year and I only just now found out! Love their retro glam rock vibe. Amber Galactic is a recent all-time favourite.

I just started my own rewatch last week (completely unrelated to the anniversary though) so seeing it up on official channel was a fun surprise. Watch IBO people! It's a flawed show but pretty fun nonetheless.

"Fun" is not a word that comes to my mind when thinking about IBO lol. Intense, gut-wrenching, gripping, cathartic... yeah that sounds more accurate. Either way, seconding the recommend.

You think so? Considering that it's a Gundam show with such an edgy name it ended up being downright lighthearted compared to what I was expecting.

...I'm honestly not sure how to answer. I mean, there were lighthearted aspects. Who names their kids Cookie, Cracker, and Biscuit? 😂😅😢 But start to finish, it was a tragedy in the classic sense.

I mean, there wasn't even one attempted genocide! No mass murder at all! Have you seen Victory Gundam? IMO it's a lot more bleak, though also not as good tbh so if you haven't watched it don't feel compelled to.

That may be the case but personally I find the smaller, personal scale way more impactful than "oh no, someone blew up a planet". I don't care about millions of blobs acting as background, I do however care about what happens to characters I got to know and love throughout the story.

I'm sure people have different views on that but for me personal is where it's at and IBO delivers nicely in that regard.

I think it's one of the better Gundam shows, and since it takes place in an alternate universe from most other Gundam stuff you can watch it without needing any context from other shows. Shame it's only the first season, but maybe they'll put Season 2 up later.

There's actually a community specifically for OpenCourseWare and similar sorts of free college lectures kind of content.

Good share, but I'm posting this here because there is a conspicuous lack of knowledge surrounding physics/qm fundamentals

edit: I meant it, good share. I joined up and thank you as I didn't know it existed :)

This is a huge series, and I've loved every moment of it. I am a layperson with a heavy interest in physical sciences, even since childhood. I had a very analytical mind even as a child but ended up deep in cs and tech starting late 70's.

I've watched many videos on chemistry and particle physics with a huge wad of astrophysics as well. The male influences in my life were heavy into atmospheric, material, and earth sciences so I was exposed at an early age.

All this to say, the reason I personally found this course so enriching is that it formally filled-in so many "blanks" that I was unaware I even had. And even though I previously understood the bulk of the content to some degree, it managed to logically order it all in my mind, and give me a completely new perspective, and a new framework to tie together so many concepts.

I also thought the main professor was incredible. I learned a lot about my own teaching methods just by watching how incredibly adept his was at both the communication and technical aspects of in-class teaching.

Even if you only have time for 1st video in the series, I heartily recommend to anybody interested in an accessible, yet meaningful dive into physics.
